It’s been a while since we’ve has a major Hyatt promotion to discuss, but we finally have one, and even though it’s only valid for stays made in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, that’s better than nothing so here’s a quick look at what’s on offer.

The promotion

World of Hyatt members can earn double points, up to 20,000 bonus points, on qualifying stays completed between 15 September and 1 December 2025, at participating hotels in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Key terms

  • You must be a member of World of Hyatt in good standing and register for the promotion between September 2, 2025 and November 1, 2025 to participate.
  • Only Eligible Stays at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts and Mr & Mrs Smith properties in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East completed after registration and between September 15, 2025 and December 1, 2025 will count towards this promotion.
  • All Eligible Stays must be completed by December 1, 2025.
  • Beginning on your first Eligible Stay after registration and during the Promotion Period, you will receive double points per Eligible Stay at participating Hyatt hotels and Mr & Mrs Smith properties in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
  • For a property to be participating in the promotion, it needs to be participating in World of Hyatt at the time of the member’s reservation and stay.
  • A maximum of 20,000 Bonus Points may be earned under this promotion.
  • All points awarded under this promotion are Bonus Points.
  • Under this promotion, you will receive five (5) Bonus Points per eligible U.S. dollar spent on your Eligible Stay. This is in addition to the five (5) Base Points you would earn as your base earning.
  • You must choose to earn World of Hyatt Base Points as your base earning for your stay. If a member chooses to earn Bonus Miles, they will not be eligible for this promotion.
  • For the purpose of this promotion, an “Eligible Stay” is defined as any stay where a member is paying an Eligible Rate or redeems a free night award.
  • Eligible Stays must be booked directly with Hyatt.
  • Only the room occupied by the member will count toward this promotion.

Full terms and conditions (which you should read carefully) can be found on the registration page.

Quick thoughts

This is a variation on a promotion that Hyatt ran in September last year and the way Hyatt has varied it is to make it a little bit worse and a little bit better.

Last September’s promotion was valid at all Hyatt properties outside of the Americas while this time, properties in Asia and the Pacific are excluded. That’s not great.

On a more positive note, last September’s promotion excluded a World of Hyatt’s first stay during the promotion period (a truly annoying thing for Hyatt to do), whereas this promotion does no such thing (is it too much to hope that Hyatt has learned?)

With Hyatt awarding 5 base points on stays made outside of promotion periods, the total earnings on offer at participating properties during the promotion is 10 points/dollar, but the 20,000 points cap means that you’ll only earn that rebate on the first $4,000 of eligible spending.

At TFM, we value Hyatt points at 1.4 cents each (based on the value we know we can get out of our points with relative ease) so, effectively, the promotion is offering us a bonus rebate of 7% with the rebate capped at $280.

That’s better than nothing, but it’s not really exciting, is it?

Hopefully, this is not all that Hyatt is going to come up with between now and the end of the year but I have a horrible feeling that it is, so it may be that we won’t see another promotion covering the Americas, Asia and the Pacific until next year. That would be very disappointing.

Note: Be aware that while Hyatt classifies Mauritius as being part of Africa, it classifies the Maldives as being part of Asia so Hyatt properties in the Maldives will not trigger this offer (some hotel programs include the Maldives within their Africa portfolio).

Bottom line

Hyatt has announced a new double points promotion for stays in Europe, Africa and the Middle East that are taken between 15 September and 1 December 2025.

A maximum of 20,000 points can be earned in this promotion and you must register before you stay if you wish to earn the bonus points, and that’s the main reason why everyone should be registering even if they don’t think they’ll be making any eligible stays.

Plans change and it would be annoying to miss out on some easy points just because you didn’t take a few seconds out of your day to register.
