Yesterday IHG was the first of the big hotel chains to launch a Cyber Sale and it hasn’t taken Hyatt long to follow suit, although the sale that Hyatt has unveiled today is considerably narrower in scope than the one IHG published yesterday. Quick thoughts
I’d love to be able to tell you just how good or bad the deals on offer are but it looks like Hyatt’s PR machine has gone early and before the sale is ready for prime time.
Based on the 12 searches that I’ve just performed, not one of the hotels that I’ve chosen to look at is showing any availability for rooms booked using the ‘SAVENOW’ promo code as all I keep seeing is this message:
As it’s statistically unlikely that I will have hit on that many properties which have chosen to opt out from the sale without seeing a single property that’s participating, I’m assuming that the sale prices haven’t been loaded at the time that this article is being written.
Hopefully, the deals should start appearing soon, and if you’re reading this later in the day after getting our daily email blast, I’d be surprised if they’re not live already.
Still, without seeing any of the deals there remain a couple of observations that can be made.
Firstly, it’s disappointing to see that this sale is limited to the Americas and that it doesn’t cover the rest of the world so let’s hope that there will be some follow-up sales aimed at EMEA and Asia/Oceania.
Secondly, it doesn’t look like this sale will be offering anything particularly spectacular or amazing as we’ve already seen a number Hyatt sales this year and all have been offering deals very much like this one.
Having said that, if you already have one or more bookings in place (and they’re flexible), it will be worth checking to see if this sale makes those bookings any cheaper and if it makes sense to cancel the existing reservation and to rebook under the lower rate.
I have a number of Hyatt stays scheduled for between now and next April so I’ll be looking out for any savings that I can make.
Bottom line
Hyatt has said that it has launched a Cyber Sale for stays in the Americas made between 21 November 2024 and 20 April 2025 in which it’s offering savings of up to 25%. At the time of writing, however these savings don’t seem to be appearing in online searches, so it may be that we have to wait a while longer before the discounts start to appear.
