Right now there are some great economy fares available for travel between New York’s JFK airport and Europe.

Delta: New York to Paris (JFK – CDG) $558 Return

This deal is available for flights departing and returning anytime between 24 August 2015 and 31 March 2016.

Availability looks good for most months (December has the worst availability but it’s still not bad)

The fares are available on Tue/Thur/Sat/Sun but may not be great for anyone wanting to do a quick turn in Europe – all of the cheapest fares I found were for stays of 6 nights or more.

On the positive side of things, a longer gap between outbound and inbound flights would give you time to take one or more cheap intra-Europe flights to see a bit more of the continent while you’ve made the effort to cross the pond.

I found the fare my usual way – using the ITA Matrix Search Engine – which you can also use to see how Delta’s price stacks up against other airlines (click to enlarge):

Norwegian: New York to Oslo (JFK – OSL) From $437 Return

If you’re prepared to try a low-cost carrier across the Atlantic then Norwegian may be the airline for you. They have some fantastic fares available between November 2015 and March 2016.

As with a lot of the good fares you can find out there you’ll need to have a bit of flexibility in your dates if you want to get the very cheapest fares.

The flights times aren’t bad….

And these are genuinely great fares for anyone looking to get to Europe.

Like the Delta fares these flights are a great way to get into and out of Europe cheaply and, if Oslo isn’t on your list of places to visit, you can always look into getting a cheap intra-Europe fare to somewhere more to your liking.

Unlike the Delta fares to Paris, I was able to find dates with Norwegian that would allow stays of 2 nights+ giving travelers a better choice of how long to make their trip.

It’s probably worth me pointing out that Icelandair has fares from JFK to Oslo (via Reykjavik) starting in the low $500’s so they may be able to help you out if you can’t make any of Norwegian’s flights work for you.
