Quick thoughts
The key thing to point out here is that if you book a flight + hotel package through Qatar Airways Holidays you will (probably) be ineligible to earn hotel loyalty points from any of the major chains and you won’t be eligible to receive any elite status benefits that you would have been eligible for had you booked with the hotel/chain directly.
This is because a booking through Qatar Airways Holidays will be viewed as a 3rd party booking and 3rd party bookings are not eligible for award accruals, elite benefits or elite credits.
This will probably put quite a few people off this deal, but if you’re booking an independent property, don’t have elite status, or simply don’t care about earning hotel points, and were considering a Qatar Airways booking anyway, the Avios on offer here may represent a nice unexpected bonus.
Bottom line
Qatar Airways is running a global promotion in which it’s offering Privilege Club members (free to join) the opportunity to earn 4,000, 8,000, or 11,000 Avios when they use cash + Avios to book a Qatar Airways Holidays package.
The Avios on offer don’t represent a rebate big enough to justify a new booking that wouldn’t have been made anyway, but they may represent a good bonus for anyone already considering a Qatar Airways trip.
