Hyatt’s aggressive expansion into the all-inclusive space shows no signs of slowing down. Following the strategic joint venture between Hyatt and Grupo Piñero announced last year, we now have confirmation that World of Hyatt members can finally earn and redeem points at participating Bahia Principe properties.
This isn’t just a minor addition because we’re looking at approximately 12,000 rooms across 23 hotels in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica, and Spain with Bahia Principe officially becoming the ninth brand in Hyatt’s “Inclusive Collection.”
The details
For those unfamiliar, Bahia Principe has historically been a reasonable-size player in the European and Canadian package holiday markets, but it probably hasn’t really been on the radar for most Hyatt loyalists. That changes today.
As of now, World of Hyatt members can:
- Earn 5 Base Points per eligible dollar spent.
- Earn Elite Night Credits toward tier status and Milestone Rewards.
- Redeem points for stays (though you’ll want to check the award charts carefully to ensure you’re getting decent value).
- Earn 4 bonus points per $1 spent when using a World of Hyatt branded credit card.
A new brand split: “Escape” vs “Explore”
Coinciding with this integration, Bahia Principe is rebranding its portfolio into two distinct resort types and this should be helpful for travelers who don’t want to guess what kind of atmosphere they’re booking into:
- Bahia Principe Escape: These are the adults-only properties.
- Bahia Principe Explore: These are the family-friendly resorts (expect water parks, kids clubs, and “castles” like at the recently rebranded Bahia Principe Explore Legend in Punta Cana).

Double points promotion
To celebrate this launch, Hyatt is offering a double points promotion, but pay attention to the dates because the window for registration and stays isn’t particularly wide.
- Registration: Must register between 24 March and 30 May 2026.
- Stay dates: Valid for stays between 1 April and 30 June 2026.
- The catch: You must register before your stay, and only stays completed by June 30 count.
You can register for the promotion by following this link.
Quick thoughts
More options for earning and burning points is always a good thing, especially in popular leisure destinations like the Riviera Maya and Tenerife. However, long-time Hyatt fans will know that while the Inclusive Collection grows, we seem to be seeing less expansion in the “regular” hotel space (fewer and fewer Hyatt Regency and Grand Hyatt properties seem to be opening), so there’s also a downside to Hyatt’s focus on its all-inclusive focus.
I guess the real test (for a lot of us) with the latest all-inclusive additions will be how Hyatt manages the elite experience at these properties.
If you’re a Globalist, I would suggest tempering your expectations when it comes to complimentary suite upgrades (especially if you’re visiting during a busy season), but Suite Upgrade Awards should still be confirmable if you book far enough in advance, and access to “the Club” at select Bahia Principe properties should also make stays that little bit nicer.
Also, keep in mind that this latest addition to the World of Hyatt means that we now have yet another brand to check off for the purposes of Hyatt’s Brand Explorer:

Not that there’s any shortage of brands for Hyatt loyalists to check off, but if you happen to want to book a Bahia Principe resort, you now know that a stay will get you a little bit closer to a Category 1-4 free night certificate.
Bottom line
The World of Hyatt’s expansion of its all-inclusive portfolio continues with the addition of over 20 Bahia Principe properties across the Caribbean and Spain.
A newly introduced branding split between “Escape” (adults-only) and “Explore” (family-friendly) should make it easier for travelers to figure out which properties are more likely to suit their needs, but the real draw here, from a miles and points perspective, is that we can now earn elite night credits and earn and redeem World of Hyatt points at yet more properties (double points are available if you register in time and stay between 1 April and 30 June).
