American Express has been on a roll with its Hilton offers so far this year (in January we saw offers for Hilton in Mexico and for bookings at Tru and this month we’ve already seen offers for bookings at Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, DoubleTree and Tapestry properties) and now a new Hilton offer is appearing in Amex cardholder accounts – this one is for properties in Hawaii.

If you have visited Hawaii (or priced up a visit to Hawaii) you’ll know that it’s not particularly difficult to spend $1,000 on room rate and room charges so this should be an offer that will be of use to quite a few people.
The fact that room charges are included in the spending that will trigger the offer is good news (you can get a lot of the way to the spending requirement on dining and tours alone!) it’s just a shame that the offer doesn’t encompass the summer months when families are more likely to be visiting Hawaii.
Ideally, you’ll have this offer targeted to a co-branded Hilton Honors Amex card on which you’ll earn a good return on your Hilton spending (like the Hilton Honors Surpass card which earns 12 Honors points/dollar at Hilton) so be careful not to load the offer on to the first card on which you see it – that may not be the best card with which to book a Hilton stay.
If you find this offer targeted to your Hilton Honors Aspire card you should also be able to stack this offer with the $250 Hilton resort statement credit and the annual complimentary weekend night that the card offers (assuming you haven’t already used them).
Don’t forget that you don’t have to put all your room and room charge spend on your targeted Amex card to trigger this offer – just $1,000. If you haven’t been targeted for this offer on a Hilton co-branded credit card you can ask the property to split the cost of your stay between your targeted card and your Hilton credit card so that you don’t miss out on too many Honors points.
Overall this is a pretty good deal to be targeted for. Hawaii is far from cheap so the $1,000 spending target won’t be an issue for most people staying at Hilton properties in the islands and if you can stack this offer with the benefits of the Aspire card your trip costs will be significantly lower than they might have been.
