TAP Air Portugal is currently running a ‘Multi destination campaign” which given all the emails I’m getting, the airline seems to be particularly excited about. The campaign is valid for most regions of the world to which TAP operates, but I’m just going to focus on the US for the purposes of this article.
You can access your local sale page via this link.

Example fares from the United States
Sadly, I don’t seem to be able to find any deals worth mentioning from San Francisco, Miami, or Chicago, but there are a few fares worth considering for departures out of New York (JFK or EWR) and Boston.
Here’s an example out of NYC:
And here’s an example out of Boston:
And these screenshots showing prices for a 7-day trip between JFK and Lisbon shows how readily available the fares are at the time of writing (availability out of Boston is very similar).
Now, that’s not where the deals end, although if you were to rely on the TAP sale page, that’s the conclusion you may come to.
Yes, all of the airline’s non-stop flights from NYC/Boston fly to Lisbon, but if you’re prepared to factor in a layover in Lisbon (which may not have to be over night), you can books similar fares to a number of other European cities.
Here’s an example of what you can book out of Boston on a random set of dates for February 2025:
You can fly to London, Frankfurt, Berlin, and Porto for ~$2,200 (round trip), and if you’re prepared to splash out, you can get to Paris for ~$2,350.
Sure, these fares can’t be called amazing or stunning, but they do appear to be a few hundred dollars cheaper than their nearest competitor, so the sale appears to be genuine and if you were already planning a Business Class trip across the Atlantic, this sale may be able to save you some cash.
The aircraft
Be aware that TAP no longer operates its widebody aircraft to/from Boston or New York so their aircraft you’re being offered is an Airbus A321neo LR.
Here’s what the seat map for that cabin looks like.
The Business Class cabin comes equipped with 16 Thompson Aero Vantage class seats arranged in a staggered 2-2/1-1 configuration which will look familiar if you’ve flown in the Mint cabin on a JetBlue A321ceo or in Business Class on an Aer Lingus A321neo.
I don’t have an image of the TAP cabin, but here’s what the Aer Lingus cabin and seats looks like:
The seats on the TAP A321neo LR are 20.5″ wide and will lie flat to form a bed that’s 73″ long (so they’re not quite as spacious as the Aer Lingus seats).
Clearly, this cabin isn’t in the same league as some of the widebody cabins we see flying across the Atlantic (e.g. American Airlines 777-300ER Business Class & British Airways 777-300ER Business Class Club Suite), but for the purposes of a relatively short long-haul flight, this should work just fine for most people.
Bottom line
For the next couple of weeks, TAP Air Portugal is running a sale in which its offering a few reasonable (but not amazing) Business Class fares for travel between New York/Boston and Europe.
The number of seats being sold at the best rates appears to be limited, so if you find a good fare for dates that work for you, don’t wait too long before booking or the deal may disappear.
TAP is crap. Not worth at this price
