As part of a hectic trip, I was scheduled for an early departure from Copenhagen airport back to London’s Heathrow. I’m not a big fan of mornings so I’m sure you can imagine how I felt about a 7:05am departure that required me to be at the airport at least an hour before hand. Luckily OneWorld flyers have a choice of lounges at Copenhagen airport, one of which is the CPH Apartment Lounge.
The CPH Apartment lounge is open Sunday – Friday between 05:00 – 20:30 and Sat between 05:00-20:00 and, from a OneWorld point of view, is open to British Airways, Air Berlin, Finnair and Iberia customers with an onward connection in First Class as well as customers who have OneWorld Emerald status. As the picture below shows it’s also open to a host of other airlines (the lounge is run by a 3rd party so isn’t a dedicated OneWorld lounge):

The CPH Apartment lounge is a good walk from where the British Airways gates are so, if you happen to be flying on BA, give yourself plenty of time to catch your flight.
If you’re walking around Copenhagen airport and not paying particular attention to your surroundings it’s quite easy to miss the lounge as it’s above the main concourse/shopping area:

The entrance to the CPH Apartment is shared with the Aviator lounge which is the designated Business Class lounge for OneWorld, SkyTeam and a number of Star Alliance airlines.
As you enter the lounge there’s a magazine/newspaper table on the right (the photo below was taken facing back towards the main door):

While on the left there’s a long bench with a couple of Apple iMacs for guests to use:

Further inside, what is essentially quite a small lounge, is a high table with chairs….

…next to which is the food and drinks corner. I’m not sure if it was because of the early hour of if it’s par for the course, but there wasn’t much of a selection to choose from.

- A choice of two cereals
- Hard boiled eggs
- Cheese
- Ham
- Bread (which was very nice)
- Marmalade/Jam/Cream Cheese
- Fruit Salad

The rest of the lounge isn’t very big and the seating area is divided between the main section….

Bottom Line
This is a First Class lounge by entrance criteria only….nothing else about it says “First Class”. It’s not a bad lounge but is very basic and I can imagine it getting very, very crowded at peak times. Top-tier passengers from eight major airlines have access to this lounge and will be times of the day when a lounge this size simply cannot cope with the numbers – it will be interesting to see if the Aviator Lounge next door is any bigger.
If all you want to do is to get a cup of coffee and a pastry before an early flight (which is all I wanted) then this is fine. If, on the other hand, you’re in Copenhagen Airport on an extended layover between flights, you may find the lounge a bit cramped and lacking in suitable food options to keep you going – one of the many eateries in Copenhagen airport would be a better bet
