Thoughts
Well, even though there was a leak suggesting that this promotion was on the way a couple of weeks ago, it’s still a little surprising to see Marriott publish such a generous promotion two years in a row.
For me, the slight irony here is that as I have lifetime status with Marriott, I don’t really have a big need for bonus elite night credits (I can’t be bothered with Suite Night Awards or whatever else Marriott plans to offer in its Annual Choice benefits), but I can still appreciate how useful this promotion can be for a lot of readers.
Overall, this is a great promotion to have open to you if you’re in the hunt for Bonvoy status as the elite nights can rack up pretty quickly and there’s no cap in place.
As TFM values Bonvoy points at 0.6 cents each, the effective rebate we’re being offered from the 1,000 points is $6 per night, and while that’s definitely not going to tempt me away from the Hyatt nights I have planned for the next few months, combined with the elite night credits, that’s not a bad deal for anyone with Bonvoy elite status in their sights.
For those of us with access to US credit cards, Bonvoy Platinum status can be had as a benefit of the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card, and that makes the quest for elite nights a lot less pressured (unless you’re keen to hit the 50/75-night milestones to earn the Annual Choice benefits).
For everyone else, however, every opportunity to earn easy bonus elite night credits is one to grasp and this offer represents a very good opportunity indeed.
Keep in mind that only nights consumed after registration will earn bonus points and the bonus elite night credits, so while existing reservations will qualify for this promotion (it’s not limited to new bookings), make sure you log in to your Bonvoy account register before your next Marriott stay.
Bottom line
Marriott has announced a new promotion that will allow all Bonvoy members to earn 1,000 bonus points and an elite night credit on every eligible stay made between 11 February and 28 April 2025. As promotions go, this is a good one. As Marriott promotions go, this is fantastic, so make sure you head over to the promotion page and register before you forget.
