The Kimpton last minute deals page is only something I’ve been aware of for the past few months but it has rapidly become a page I check quite regularly to see what sort of deals are on offer.

Right now we’re not in peak/busy season for most areas where Kimpton has properties (even LA is ‘cold’ right now) so hotel occupancy rates aren’t particularly high and that seems to be having a good effect on Kimpton’s last minute deals.

When Kimpton calls something a last minute deal it really is a last. minute. deal. as the offers available are generally for the seven days ahead. In some cases the deals are only for stays in the next two or three days so they’re not likely to appeal to someone who likes to book well in advance….but that shouldn’t put everyone off because there are some good deals to be had here.

Here’s the current Kimpton Last Minute Deals page as it stands today:

There are number of nice offers in this list

The Kimpton Hotel Monaco Chicago has a fantastic central location and for $128/night could be a great place to be based if you’re looking to explore the city (the Magnificent Mile is less than 10 minutes walk away and even the famous Buckingham fountain is within an easy walk)

There are three New York Kimpton properties on this list (always good news considering how costly NYC can be for accommodation) and all are under $155/night.

The Kimpton Muse Hotel on West 46th St between 6th and 7th Avenues is probably the one I’d choose if a central location was what I was after….but you can’t really argue with the prices at any of the 3 properties.

On the West Coast the Kimpton Sir Francis Drake can’t be beaten if you’re looking for a central base in San Francisco (I prefer staying towards the city’s center rather than in the heart of tourist-town by the piers) and, although the weather certainly won’t be warm right now, this isn’t a bad time to visit as you’ll miss most of the crowds.

The Kimpton La Peer in West Hollywood is the most expensive property on the current list with a nightly rate of $319 but, believe it or not, this is actually quite a good deal for this property where rooms often start in the mid-$400s.

Bottom Line

If you like making solid plans in advance then the Kimpton Last Minute Deals page probably isn’t for you but, if you’re leaving things late, this is definitely a page to bear in mind when looking over your options.

One word of caution: don’t just assume that the best deal on offer is the deal shown on the Kimpton last minute deals page – make sure you do your research and check that nowhere else if offering anything better and, if they are, it may be an idea to try a price guarantee challenge through IHG.
