Flying Blue Promo Award deals for travel through January 2026 (another strong set)

Flying Blue has released its Promo Rewards for August 2026 which cover travel through 31 January 2027 and as usual, you can now book select Air France and KLM awards with a 25% discount.

Following last month’s unexpectedly good set of Promo Awards, I was interested to see if Flying Blue would stay with its newly discovered generous nature or revert to type, and I’m pleased to report that this looks like another good month.

In August, we have 15 long-haul Premium cabin deals from which to choose (in July, there were 23) and while the destinations on offer aren’t quite as good as last month, only two of them are restricted to members participating in the Flying Blue Extra subscription program (which launched back in January).

The headline news is this:

• There are 5 short-haul Business Class Promo Awards this month.
• 3 of the 5 short-haul Business Class Promo Awards are restricted to users of the Flying Blue Extra program.
• 3 out of the remaining 9 short-haul Promo Award routes are restricted to users of the Flying Blue Extra program.
• There are 3 long-haul Business Class Promo Award routes available this month and none are restricted to users of the Flying Blue Extra program.
• There are 12 long-haul Premium Economy deals this month with 2 restricted to users of the Flying Blue Extra program.
• In total, there are 28 long-haul Promo Awards this month (only five fewer than last month) and 9 are restricted to users of the Flying Blue Extra program.

There are so many deals that caught our eye this month that I can’t go through them all, but suffice it to say that you’ll find Premium Economy and or Business Class deals available to a very good variety of highly popular destinations. Let’s just hope award availability is as good as the list of destinations.

Note: As usual, if any of these deals are of interest, you should keep a close eye on the surcharges that Flying Blue will append to all of these Promo Awards as size of the surcharges will go a long way to deciding just how good (or bad!) these deals are.

Promo Awards key terms

• Book by 31 August 2026
• Travel by 31 January 2027
• Promo reward tickets must be booked via airfrance.com or klm.com or on the respective airline apps (except for bookings for minors travelling alone or when travelling with an infant under the age of 2, in these cases bookings must be made by calling customer service).
• Changes (flight and/or date) are possible before flight departure (check-in closure) for a €70 fee plus possible fare difference. Miles and tax/surcharges paid for the changed segment(s) will be reaccredited to the account holder and a new booking for the adjusted flight/date will be made (including re-payment for the tax/surcharges).
• Refunds are possible before flight departure (check-in closure) for a €70 fee. Miles will be reaccredited to the account holder in case of a cancellation.
• Promo reward tickets are subject to the operating airline’s general conditions of carriage.
• Promo reward tickets are available for one-way, round-trip, multi-city, and open-jaw tickets but open-jaw and multicity Reward tickets must be booked via the Customer Service center.
• You can book stopovers depending on availability. Stopovers are available on Air France, KLM and Flying Blue airline partners and all airports, and are bookable via customer service.

Bottom line

Flying Blue has released details of its August 2026 Promo Awards which cover travel through 31 January 2027 and which must be booked by 31 August 2026 and, surprisingly, this is the second set of Promo Rewards in a row that show promise.

12 long-haul Premium Economy deals (2 restricted to FB subscribers) and 3 long-haul Business Class deals (none restricted to subscribers only) is a nice set of awards to be offered and while the destinations in this month’s list aren’t quite as good as the destinations we saw on sale last month (the Business Class destinations aren’t exactly exciting), access to discounted Premium Economy awards to/from places like Fortaleza, Mumbai, Shanghai, Johannesburg, San Francisco, Houston, and New York is still good going.

Once again, we appear to have Promo Awards to places people actually want to go!

Keep in mind that if you’re not seeing any great deals from your preferred starting point, you can always take a cheap positioning flight to start your journey from a city where deals are available, so you should have plenty of choice this month.

Likewise, if your preferred destination isn’t on this month’s list, try looking for good value awards to a city that’s relatively close to where you want to visit and combine that with a cheap cash flight to your chosen destination (e.g. if you want to fly from Europe to Cape Town, try booking a Premium Economy award to Johannesburg and then booking a cheap cash fare from Johannesburg to Cape Town).
