Emirates currently has over half of its Airbus A380 aircraft parked up in storage but as the world starts to reopen and demand for travel starts to rise, more and more of these aircraft are being dusted off and brought back into service.
Pre-pandemic, Emirates often operated over 30 weekly flights between Dubai and Bangkok so it’s a sign of the times that only 13 weekly flights are operating right now. Still, demand for travel to Bangkok is clearly picking up as Emirates is adding more flights to the Thai capital and bringing back the A380 on this route.
The Emirates Bangkok route
The Emirates Airbus A380 will make its reappearance on the Dubai – Bangkok route from 28 November operating as EK372/EK373 and by the first full week of December, Emirates is scheduled to be offering up to 21 weekly flights to Bangkok.

The Bangkok Emirates A380
Emirates offers its Airbus A380 aircraft with four different cabin configurations so the first thing I should point out is that the A380 on the Bangkok route will not be one of the few aircraft that offer the new Emirates Premium Economy cabin.
The good news, however, is that this A380 will offer the famed Emirates First Class cabin (14 seats) and a large Business Class cabin (76 seats) which should make it pretty easy to find award space.
As a result of adding the A380 and as a result of boosting the number of flights on the Bangkok route, Emirates will soon offer 61% more premium cabin seats on its Bangkok route than it does right now.
Bottom Line
Emirates has scheduled one of its Airbus A380s to return to the Dubai – Bangkok route from 28 November. The reintroduction of this aircraft will see the Bangkok route getting 76 more Business Class seats and 14 more First Class seats every day, so anyone looking to burn some miles should find plenty of opportunities here.
That’s good news for sure. As a partially relevant question, is there a way to fly Emirates long haul first class at an affordable price with miles? With Alaska lacking access I’m admittedly at a loss and any insight would be helpful.
