We don’t usually cover news to do with the Qantas frequent flyer program, but given that quite a few people are currently looking for a new Oneworld airline program to call home (mostly people disenchanted by the changes over at British Airways), we thought that this double status credits promotion may be worth a paragraph or two.

Very quick thoughts

This will probably be of most use to readers based in Australia/New Zealand, but it could also be useful to anyone in the Southeast Asia region where Qantas has a good presence.

I’m going to assume that the double status points will be the more popular of the two offers, and even though the booking period is a short one, because the offer is valid for travel taken all the way into August 2026, this should be a useful promotion for a very large percentage of Qantas flyers (and possibly even for people looking to move from the British Airways Club to a less expensive program).

Bottom line

If you’re chasing Qantas elite status you may be pleased to know that for the next 7 days (though 11.59pm (AEST) 3 September 2025), any bookings you make for Qantas marketed and operated flights for travel between 4 September 2025 and 22 August 2026 will earn you double status credits.
