Accor is currently running a sale in which it’s offering up to 40% off rates at Fairmont & Sofitel properties in the US and Mexico for stays through the end of the year and this should stack nicely with an Amex offer that has appeared in targeted accounts that gives cardholders a nice rebate.

Quick Thoughts
Ordinarily, the fact that the Amex offer is only valid for stays in the US and Mexico would be a little disappointing but considering the state of the world right now and the fact that a lot of countries are still discouraging visitors, I suspect this won’t be an issue for most.
Keep in mind that members of Accor’s ALL rewards program get an extra 10% discount on top of the published sale prices (non-members can only save up to 30%) so if you’re not already a member of the program, make sure you sign up for free here.
As far as the Amex credit cards go, hopefully, you’ve had this offer targeted to the Amex Green Card (assuming you have one) which will return 3 Membership Rewards Points/dollar on all travel spending and is Amex’s best all-around travel card. If like me, you don’t have a Green Card, the next best card to use would probably be the Blue Business Plus Card (review) which offers cardholder 2 Membership Rewards Points/dollar on the first $50,000 of spending (across all categories).
Bottom Line
American Express is now targeting select cardholders with an offer for a $100 on $500 of spending at Fairmont and Sofitel properties in the United States and Mexico. The offer is valid through the end of September and should stack nicely with the current Accor sale which is offering up to 40% off a variety of properties though the end of the year.
