On Business In Brief

“On Business” is the business loyalty program run by British Airways. Where people earn loyalty points through the British Airways Executive Club, companies earn them through On Business.

On Business British Airways

One of the nice things about a program like On Business is that both the travelling employee and the company can benefit from a single flight. The employee can collect frequent flier points while at the same time the company will earn On Business points forthe same flight (as long as the company’s On Business ID number is in the employee’s booking).

On Business Points can be earned on qualifying flights with American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia and by using a British Airways Corporate Amex credit card.

On Business points can be redeemed, by authorised users nominated by the company, for reward flights or upgrades. These points are completely separate points form any frequent flier loyalty points you may earn.

A program like this is great if you happen to run your own company (On Business is primarily aimed at SMEs). You can collect both frequent flyer miles and On Business points for the same flights – it’s a “double dip”.

The Promotion

On Business Triple Points PromoTo entice more joiners to On Business the program is offering Triple Points on the first 6 flight sectors that a company takes, on British Airways, American Airlines or Iberia, in the first 12 months of membership.

The fact that the T&Cs mention “flight sectors” and not just “flights” is important. A sector is an individual leg of a flight e.g. London-New York so, if you were to fly from London to Los Angeles via New York, you’d use up 2 of your 6 sectors on the outward journey (LHR-NYC-LAX) and 2 more if you returned home in a similar way – so plan your first 6 flights strategically!
