British Airways is running a new set of deals for European City breaks that are now live on the airline’s website so with the weather in Europe now getting warmer and fares not yet shooting up in line with the price of oil, some of these deals may be worth a closer look.
British Airways city break deals
British Airways has thousands of deals on its Holiday Finder page so I’ve just picked out a few that I think may be of interest. Specifically, I’ve chosen breaks with these parameters:
- 3-night stays
- Travel in May (when the weather in Europe should be pretty good and the cities not yet teeming with tourists)
- Economy Class travel
- Minimum 4-star accommodation
Here are some of the better deals I found:
- Berlin – from £167 per person
- Budapest – from £159 per person
- Florence – from £183 per person
- Lisbon – from £178 per person
- Madrid – from £159 per person
- Munich – from £179 per person
- Milan – from £162 per person
- Paris – from £172 per person
- Porto – from £179 per person
- Rome – from £232 per person
- Stockholm – from £174 per person
- Turin – from £181 per person
- Venice – from £171 per person
- Verona – from £182 per person
- Vienna – from £188 per person

Important to note
British Airways is still offering a flexible booking policy so all bookings for travel through 30 September 2022 can be rearranged free of charge.
Also, when comparing the prices of the BA holiday packages to the cost of individual flights, keep in mind that BA holiday bookings include a 23kg checked baggage allowance for each traveler and if you feel the need to take a big bag with you, that could be very useful.
Don’t forget the double Tier Points promotion
If you’re happy to take a slightly longer break, it’s worth remembering that British Airways is still offering double Tier Points on flights taken as part of a package holiday (flights + hotel or flights + car) of 5 or more nights through 31 October 2022.
For short-haul European breaks booked into Economy Class (Euro Traveller) this promotion probably won’t really make all that much difference but for anyone booking Business Class (Club Europe) flights as part of their package, the double Tier Points could make earning or requalifying for British Airways Executive Club status considerably easier.
Bottom line
British Airways has published a new set of short-haul deals on its website and there are a few that seem to offer good value. If your budget can stretch to a Club Europe fare and a 5-night stay, the double Tier Points that you’ll earn may be worth the added expense (especially if it means that you don’t have to book a last-minute flight to secure your elite status later in the year).
