Amazon Prime Day is here and as usual, it’s running for two days and not just one as its name would suggest (12 & 13 July). To participate you need to have an Amazon Prime membership but as Amazon is currently running offering a 1-week Prime Membership for just $1.99, there’s no reason for anyone to be left out.

Whenever Prime Day comes around, the first thing I usually do is check my Amazon ‘wish list’ to see if anything that I’ve stored there has come down to a price that I’m happy to pay before delving into the electronics and luggage pages.

So far, my wish list hasn’t revealed any amazing deals and while more and more discounts are continually being added to the Prima Day sale, I haven’t yet noticed anything that I really need* that has seen its price cut significantly.

*Please don’t go spending money that you don’t need to spend in the Prime Day sale – that’s not a smart thing to do.

I’m not a big fan of TUMI so I can claim to be disappointed that the TUMI pages aren’t (so far) showing any major discounts, but Samsonite luggage is reduced by up to 56% and a few Briggs & Riley items appear to be reduced by between 20% and 25% (B&R luggage is significantly better than the stuff that TUMI churns out nowadays).

Note: As things stand, Briggs & Riley doesn’t appear to have a sale on its own website so Amazon could be your best bet if you need a piece of B&R luggage.

As far as the electronics pages go, the discounts on iPads don’t look to be particularly exciting (at the time of writing) but elsewhere, some of the other deals don’t look too bad:

The best deal, however, appears to be reserved for the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay E8 3rd Generation in-Ear Bluetooth Earphones which are currently down to just $149.99 (black version) – that’s a 40% reduction in price.

Other departments are showing discounts of up to 60% and 70% but I’m not about to delve into the wonderful world of bedding and kids’ clothes so you’ll have to look those up for yourselves 🙂

Lastly, keep in mind that Amazon is still running its Lightning Deals alongside the Prime Day promotion and as those can often offer up some of the very best price reductions, they’re worth checking every so often.

If you have spotted any great deals (that are, at the very least, vaguely travel-related or useful to travelers), please let me know in the comments and I’ll add them to this article.
