Well, this is fortuitous! Less than 24 hours after Hyatt announced its first major promotion for 2025 American Express has launched a new targeted offer for bookings made with Grand Hyatt properties around the world. That’s great timing!

Quick thoughts
There are three key things to note here:
- Based on the wording in the terms and conditions, it looks like the $250 spending target does not need to be met in one transaction. Multiple transactions that add up to $250 or more will end up triggering the statement credit (although I suspect that most people triggering this offer will do it in one stay).
- Amazingly, this offer is valid at Grand Hyatt properties around the world and isn’t simply limited tom properties in the Americas and the Caribbean (as is often the case with a lot of Amex offers).
- This targeted offer covers stays made at any time during Hyatt’s latest global promotion (which runs from 27 January to 28 March 2025) so you should be able to stack this deal with the bonus points that Hyatt will soon be offering.
Overall, the best Amex card to use with this offer will probably be the American Express® Green Card which returns 3 points/dollar on travel spending (terms apply), but as that’s a card that I do not (yet) hold, I’m going to have to make do with adding it to my Platinum Card® from American Express which will earn me just 1 point/dollar (terms apply).
Ordinarily and in the absence a card that will earn me a category spending bonus, I would use the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express for an offer like this (it earns me 2 points/dollar on the first $50,000 of spending every year and 1 point/dollar thereafter – terms apply), but as this card charges foreign transaction fees and as I think I’m most likely to use this offer outside of the US, I’m going to have to settle for using the Platinum Card unless my plans change and I suddenly decide to book a domestic property.
Note: All information about the American Express® Green Card has been collected independently by Traveling For Miles. The American Express® Green Card is not currently available through Traveling For Miles.

Bottom line
American Express is currently targeting select cardholders for a $50 saving when they spend $250 or more (in one or more transactions) at Grand Hyatt properties in various locations around the world.
Based on how many of my Amex cards are showing this offer (all my Membership Rewards cards seem to have it) this doesn’t appear to be a narrowly targeted deal, so if you have an upcoming stay at a Grand Hyatt (or if you’re planning a stay in a location that has a Grand Hyatt property), make sure you check your Amex offers to see if you could save $50.
