Get up to 10% back on your next Radisson Rewards award booking (capped at 9,000 points)

Radisson Rewards (the non-Americas version) is currently offering members a one-off chance to earn a rebate of up to 10% (capped at 9,000 points) on their next award stay. Clearly, this isn’t a reason to get excited about a program that has been devalued so badly that even Delta SkyMiles executives think things may have gone too far, but if you still have a stack of Radisson points, this may be of interest.

The promotion

This promotion relates to Radisson Rewards (not to the Radisson program that is now part of Choice Privileges) and so only applies to Radisson properties outside of the Americas.

For award bookings made by 1 November 2024 where the stay is made by 31 December 2024, Radisson Rewards members can earn up to 10% back on their stay with the rebate based on the number of points they use for their booking (registration doesn’t appear to be needed).

• Redeem 5,000 – 20,000 points and get 500 points back.
• Redeem 20,000 – 35,000 points and get 2,000 points back.
• Redeem 35,000 – 55,000 points and get 3,500 points back.
• Redeem 55,000 – 75,000 points and get 5,500 points back.
• Redeem 75,000 – 90,000 points and get 7,500 points back.
• Redeem 90,000+ points and get 9,000 points back.

The figures above have been taken straight from the promotion page, and as you can probably see, they’re contradictory (according to these figures a redemption of 20,000 points is eligible for a 500 point rebate and/or a 2,000 point rebate).

We’re reasonably sure that the bands should all end 1,000 points earlier (19,000, 34,000, 54,000, etc…) as it seems clear that the promotion is offering 10% back on the first number in each band.

Key terms

• Radisson Rewards members must (i) book their Eligible Stay redeeming their points via Radissonhotels.com or in the mobile application (ii) consume such reservations during the stay period.
• “Eligible Stay” refers to any stay of not less than one (1) night at a Participating Property during the Stay Period.
• “Booking Period” refers to September 30, 2024, and November 01, 2024, both dates inclusive.
• “Stay Period” refers to September 30, 2024, and December 31, 2024, with both dates being considered inclusive.
• Members will earn different amounts of points back depending on their bonus points redemption per stay based on Eligible Stays at Participating Properties during the Promotion Period.
• Bonus points will be awarded to accounts within sixty (60) days after the completion of the Eligible Stay.
• Bonus points are in addition to the standard points per U.S. dollar issued based on the standard tier proposition.
• The Offer is eligible for a single use throughout the Promotion Period.
• You may also benefit from additional Radisson Rewards promotions running in parallel to this Offer unless explicitly stated that certain additional promotions may be exempt.
• Eligible Stays booked during the Promotion Period cannot be cancelled, amended, or adjusted after booking. If the Member does not arrive on the reservation date, the Participating Property shall have the right to cancel such reservation without refund or credit.

Quick thoughts

Ok, yes, Radisson Rewards points are mostly useless nowadays after the program was gutted beyond recognition a few years ago, but this may be a useful promotion for anyone who still has a stack of Radisson Rewards points that aren’t getting used.

There are a few key things about things about this promotion that you should be aware of.

Firstly, this is a points rebate promotion and not a points discount promotion and what that means is that you’ll need to have the full number of points required to make a reservation at the time of booking.

As an example, an award booking that under ordinary circumstances would cost 55,000 points will still require a member to use 55,000 points to make the booking, as the 5,500 points that this promotion is offering on such a booking will be issued as a rebate and will not be knocked of the cost of booking.

That makes this a less useful promotion that it may otherwise have been.

Secondly, keep in mind that this is an offer that will only apply to the first booking made during the promotion period, so multiple bookings will not all get the rebate. Because of this, anyone wishing to maximize their rebate and who plans to make multiple Radisson award bookings this quarter should try to ensure that their first award booking during the promotion period isn’t one of the small ones.

Thirdly (and this is a strange one), the terms of the promotion say that ‘[e]ligible Stays booked during the Promotion Period cannot be cancelled, amended, or adjusted after booking‘, but the last time I checked, all Radisson Rewards award bookings were flexible (i.e. could be cancelled/amended up until 24-48 hours before check-in), so I’m not sure if this is an error or if Radisson is now making award bookings inflexible.

Either way, be aware that this wording is included in the terms.

Bottom line

All Radisson Rewards members can now get up to 10% back (in points) on their next award booking as long as it’s made before 30 November and as long as the stay is completed by 31 December 2024.
