Note: This is a catch-up post as some of the details here were first unearthed at the end of December while TFM was on hiatus.

Qatar Airways has gradually been increasing the number of aircraft and number of routes on which it offers its highly acclaimed Qsuites Business Class cabin and 2020 will be the year in which all of the airline’s US routes will finally offer passengers Qatar’s premium Business Class cabin.

Atlanta Gets Qsuites From May 2020

Atlanta has seen Qsuites service before but only infrequently and only on seemingly random dates and I expected to see the city get regular Qsuites service towards the end of last year when Qatar Airways scheduled one of its older 777-200LR aircraft to operate the route…but that didn’t happen.

Now, however, it looks like Qatar Airways has got its act together as the schedules show the Doha – Atlanta route being operated by a Qsuite-equipped Boeing 777-200LR from 1 May 2020 on the following schedule:

QR755 DOH 08:05 – 16:20 ATL (Daily)
QR756 ATL 19:45 – 16:25+1 day DOH (Daily)

The Qsuite-equipped aircraft is currently scheduled to operate the Doha – Atlanta route though to the end of the current booking period and with Atlanta being the home of Delta (no friend of Qatar Airways!) I don’t see Qsuites service being taken off this route any time soon.

Miami Completes The Set In Late 2020

With Atlanta getting Qsuites service from 1 May 2020 that leaves Miami as the only Qatar Airways US destination to which the airline doesn’t offer its premium Business Class product…but that will only be the case for a few months.

As things stand, Qatar Airways operates an Airbus A350-900 (without Qsuites) between Doha and Miami but from 1 August 2020 this aircraft will be replaced by a lager (and Qsuite-equipped) Airbus A350-1000 on the following schedule:

QR777 DOH 08:20 – 16:50 MIA (Daily)
QR778 MIA 19:10 – 16:15+1 day DOH (Daily)

When the schedules were fist loaded with the new aircraft it was only set to operate this route through to the end of the summer season (towards the end of October) but a recent update has seen Qatar Airways extend A350-1000 service to Miami though to the end of the current booking period.

Bottom Line

As of 1 August 2020 all of Qatar Airways’ US routes are set to be operated by Qsuite-equipped aircraft so, barring any schedule changes or mechanical issues, from that date anyone flying Qatar Airways to/from the US should have the option of booking the excellent Qsuites Business Class cabin.
