This year’s ‘Daily Getaways‘ promotion launch today (18 July) and the opening day’s deal is focused on IHG One Rewards. The promotion starts at 13:00 Eastern and will offer IHG One Rewards members the opportunity to purchase points from just 0.48 cents each.
The deals
These are the deals that Daily Getaways is promoting today:
In 4 out of 5 deals, IHG One Rewards points can be purchased for 0.5 cents each but anyone snapping up the deal offering 2,500 points for just $12 will be paying just 0.5 cents per point.
I’m not about to suggest that what we’ll be witnessing later today will be some kind of stunning offer that everyone should be trying to get in on – IHG points can be purchased for 0.5 cents in a lot of IHG’s frequent sales – but these deals do have an important use.
Firstly, keep in mind that any points purchased in these Daily Getaway deals do not count towards the year maximum that IHG imposes when it’s selling points through Points.com so anyone who has maxed out their yearly IHG points purchasing allowance can still buy points today.
Also and anyone buying points today and who hasn’t purchased points through IHG yet this year will keep their yearly allowance intact.
Secondly, keep in mind that anyone who holds the card_name (review), the card_name, or the card_name (review) can avail themselves of the ‘4th-night free’ benefit that all three cards offer and which in conjunction with a sale like this one, can offer a fantastic way of booking great properties at a significant discount.
Key terms
These packages will probably be in high demand so I expect them to sell out quickly and I doubt whether any one person will be able to snap up more than one of these offers.
Nevertheless, it’s probably worth knowing that there’s a limit to how many of these deals a single IHG One Rewards account can participate in. Specifically, this is what the terms and conditions say:
“No more than five (5) packages of points purchased through this offer are allowed per loyalty number. A maximum of (16) packages of points is allowed per loyalty number across all IHG offers.”

Bottom line
As of 13:00 ET, this year’s Daily Getaways promotions will start going live and for the first day, participants being offered the chance to purchase IHG points at 0.48 – 0.5 cents each. This isn’t in any way a promotion that “must not be missed” but it certainly has its uses and readers who hold one of the IHG Rewards credit cards may be able to save quite a bit of cash by pairing this deal with the 4th-night free benefit that their card offers.
