One of the principle reasons I hold as many American Express cards as I do is that I often get targeted for some highly lucrative offers via the Amex Offers section of my Amex account page.

Over the past few days American Express has been refreshing the offers I can see in my accounts and there are a few excellent offers available for hotel stays.

Amex offers are targeted so not everyone will see these offers in their accounts and some will probably be able to see offers that I haven’t been targeted for…but here are my six favorites right now.

Spend $500 & Get $100 At Hilton In Mexico

“Get a one-time $100 USD statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend $500+ USD on room rate and room charges for your stay at Hilton properties in Mexico from 2/1/19 to 5/31/19. Book direct with Hilton.”

This offer gives travelers a rebate of up to 20% at Hilton’s Mexico properties and I’ve got this offer on my Platinum Card.

However, if you have this offer on your Hilton Honors Aspire credit card it should stack nicely with the $250 annual resort credit that the card offers as one of its benefits give users a rebate of up to 70%.

Spend $350 & Get $70 Back At Kimpton Hotels

“Get a one-time $60 statement credit at Kimpton hotels from 2/1/19 to 5/1/19, by using your enrolled Card to pay for your stay and spend a minimum of $300+ on room rate and room charges. Book online at Kimptonhotels.com.”

This Kimpton offer gives users a rebate of up to 20% and I have this offer across a number of cards.

This is a pretty good deal all round but you may find you get an even better deal if you pair this discount with on of Kimpton’s “last minute deals”.

Spend $350 & Get $70 Back At Lowes Hotels

“Get a one-time $70 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $350+ in one or more transactions on room rate and room charges, when you pay for your stay with Loews Hotels by 3/31/2019.”

This is another offer where you can get a rebate of up to 20% of your stay with Lowes although make sure you read the terms and conditions closely as they exclude properties within Universal Studios Florida.

Lowes is currently running its own deal offering 30% off so if you can stack that deal with this Amex offer you should be on to a very good thing.

Spend $300+ At MGM Resorts & Get $6,000 Membership Rewards Points

I’ve also seen a version of this (on a non Membership Rewards earning card) which offers $60 back after spending $300+….but this is the better offer.

“Get 6,000 additional Membership Rewards points one-time by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $300+ on room rate and room charges, when you pay for your stay with MGM Resorts from 1/22/19 to 4/22/19”

I value Membership Rewards points at a conservative 1.5 cents each so, effectively, this Amex offer is equivalent to a $90 rebate (30%).

Spend $250 & Get $50 Back At Omni Hotels & Resorts

This offer has been around for a while and is ending this month so you’ll have to be quick if you want to make the most of it.

“Get a 1X $50 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend $250+ on room rate and room charges, when you pay for your stay with Omni Hotels & Resorts from 11/1/18 to 2/28/19”

Another rebate of up to 20% on offer here – this is probably one of the less tempting offers in this list due to the fact that it’s expiring soon and not for a brand at which many of us can make the most of our various elite statuses….but it’s still a discount worth having if you can make it work for you.

Spend $500 & Get $100 Back At St Regis Hotels & Resorts

“Get a one-time $100 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend $500+ on room rate and room charges, when you pay for your stay with St. Regis Hotels & Resorts from 2/4/2019 to 5/31/2019”

Disappointingly I only got this offer on my Platinum Card and not on my SPG Card so that makes it worth a little less to me….but if you’ve had better luck this could be a great deal.

The SPG Luxury Card from American Express offers up to $300 in statement credits each year of Card Membership for eligible purchases at participating Marriott properties so, if you’ve been fortunate enough to have this offer targeted to that card (and if you haven’t used up any of your credit yet) you could be looking at a $400 rebate for a $500 spend (and 80% rebate).

Be Aware

All Amex offers come with detailed terms and conditions which you should read carefully before assuming that the expenditure you have planned will qualify for the rebate.

Most Amex offers come with these very general terms:

  • Enrolment limited.
  • Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem.
  • Only U.S.-issued American Express Cards are eligible.
  • Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels.
  • Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card.
  • Offer valid only at participating properties in the US. (or specific country/region stated in the offer)
  • Gift cards purchased online are excluded.
  • Offer only valid on room rate and room charges.
  • Accommodation must be booked direct through the specific property/hotel chain
  • Offer not valid for lodging stays that are paid for before the promotion start date or after the promotion end date.
  • Limit of 1 statement credit per Card Member.

But some offers will have more specific terms too so make sure you read the details carefully.

Bottom Line

There are some very good Amex offers available right now and, used correctly (and assuming you’ve been targeted for these offers on favorable cards) there are some serious savings to be had here.

My personal favorite is the Kimpton offer as I think I can get a great deal through one of the last minute deals…but the 6,000 Membership Rewards points from an MGM stay looks good too.

Which Amex Offer is your favorite and do you have any good ones that I haven’t mentioned?
