Update 10:48 PST: We’ve had a report in the comments that this offer is available in the WoH iOS App
A recent World of Hyatt credit card welcome bonus was offering new cardholders twice as many elite night credits as the card usually offers but, sadly, that bonus expired on June 30th and the current public offer on the World of Hyatt credit card makes no mention of any bonus elite night credits over and above what the card usually offers…but that doesn’t mean the offer has disappeared completely.
I recently received an email from the World of Hyatt (not Chase) with the subject line: “Earn the benefits of elite status – even when you’re not traveling” and the image within the email makes it very clear what that subject line is referring to.
This is the main body of the email:
While your current travel plans may be on hold, we want to help you make the most of future stays. This exclusive offer lets you boost your World of Hyatt status and earn awards fast, without having to go anywhere.
Apply by August 31, 2020 and receive 10 qualifying
night credits toward your next tier status
You’ll get your 10 qualifying night credits after account opening — that’s double the number of qualifying night credits you would normally receive. Plus, you’ll receive 5 qualifying night credits every year thereafter.*
This product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Hyatt credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Hyatt credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 24 months.
As the rest of the welcome offer mentioned in the email is the same as the current public offer – there are a total of 50,000 bonus World of Hyatt points on offer in addition to the bonus elite nights – this is exactly the same welcome offer as the one being promoted by Chase up to the end of last month.

Update 10:48 PST: We’ve had a report in the comments that this offer is available in the WoH iOS App – check at the very bottom of your “account” page and use the link that starts “Earn up to 50,000… [HT: Marc]
I have no idea….but it’s worth checking your email folders to see if you may have missed an email with this offer from the World of Hyatt. If you can’t find the email (or know for sure that you were never sent one) and are interested in the World of Hyatt credit card with the bonus elite night credit offer, it’s worth calling Chase and asking if they can add this offer to your application – you don’t have anything to lose.
This May Be Good News For Me
The World of Hyatt credit card is a card I’ve often thought about adding to my portfolio (it’s a very good card) but the timing has never been right. I haven’t been putting a lot of my spending Hyatt’s way in recent years (most of my Hyatt stays have been paid for with points) and, even though I’m almost certainly going to be spending more with Hyatt next year, I wasn’t ready to pull the trigger on a World of Hyatt credit card by the end of last month.
By late August, however, I’m expecting my situation to be a little different and that may make it a good time to apply for this card. I’m probably going to have a lot more natural spending coming up the last few months of the year and that spending should make it a lot easier for me to earn the full welcome bonus without stretching my finances and without having to bring forward any spending – those are the linds of conditions that I like to have in place if I have a welcome bonus target to hit.
Added to all of that is the fact that I’m considering doing a Hyatt mattress run in early September to try to lock in mid-tier World of Hyatt status on the cheap (more on that in a future post), so it would be nice to have a World of Hyatt card with which to pay for that booking and to give me entry-level Hyatt status for that stay.
Officially, the World of Hyatt credit card is no longer offering an extra 5 elite night credits as part of its current welcome offer but that doesn’t mean that that offer is dead. The World of Hyatt is has been emailing members with a credit card welcome offer that looks exactly like the Chase public offer that expired on June 30th so, if you missed out then, now may be a good time to call Chase to see if this is an offer you can apply for.
