For reasons I’m not sure I fully understand we seem to be seeing a noticeable increase in the number of good Business Class fares out of London (a traditionally expensive departure point) but, as I’m not about to look a gift horse in the mouth, I’m not going to question why this is happening….I’m just going to enjoy it while it lasts!

Right now SWISS and Lufthansa are offering some very attractive Business Class fares between London and New Delhi and, considering how respected SWISS’ Business Class offering is (Lufthansa less so) these fares are very tempting indeed.

The Headline Fare Rules

  • Fares must be purchased 60 or more days in advance of travel
  • A Saturday night stay is required
  • Maximum stay is 12 months
  • 1 stopover allowed in each direction at a cost of £75 each
  • Accompanied infants/children with a seat costs 75% of the published fare
  • Infants (under 2) without their own seat cost 10% of the published fare

The Fares & Availability

January isn’t a great month for the best fares (but the fares are still pretty good)….

….by May the best fare is available on every day of the month….

….and the great fare continues into September and October:

The only issue with the very cheapest fares is that they all require a very long layover in at least one direction….but you can get around that.

For a slight increase in fare you can book the SWISS A330 in both directions with very reasonable layover times….

…or you can choose to book the Lufthansa A350…..

…or mix it up and try the Lufthansa A350 in one direction and the A380 in the other:

Personally I’d stick with SWISS as the Lufthansa seats aren’t the best and, in my experience, the SWISS service trumps that of Lufthansa in Business Class.

Finding & Booking The Fares

I used the matrix search facility to find these fares and, if you’re looking to avoid the longer layovers, thee are the parameters I suggest (if you just want the cheapest fares remove the “maxdur” commands”

You’ll find these flights on Google Flights too and this is also where you may find some of the OTAs offering even lower fares (if you’re lucky):

Where To Credit The Flights

SWISS is a member of the Star Alliance so there’s a wide choice of loyalty programs to which its flights can be credited.

To give yourself all the information you need to make the best decision I suggest using the Wheretocredit tool and but be aware that you won’t do much better than a base earning of 100% of distance flown.

Bottom Line

We don’t often see Business Class fares to Asia as low as this for departure from London so it’s worth making the most of this opportunity if you need to head to Delhi.

I don’t see an expiration date on this fare so it may be around for a while or it could get pulled at any moment – if you see dates that work for you don’t procrastinate for too long or you may miss out.
