According to information from Meetings Focus, Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced that it will be bringing its Luxury Collection to Napa Valley in 2015.

The new hotel is to be called “Las Alcobas” (the Bedrooms) and is the result of a multi-million dollar renovation of what used to be the Grandview Hotel & Spa.

Situated in St Helena, CA. the property will feature 57 guest rooms and suites, a signature restaurant, a 3,500-sq-ft spa, and an outdoor pool.

Spanning 3.4 acres, the hotel will consist of the historic Acacia House, which was built as a private residence in 1907 and converted into a hotel in 1911, as well as several multi-unit cottages added in the early 1940s.

“The redesigned Acacia House will house the hotel’s lobby, restaurant, spa, fitness center, 3,500 square feet of meeting space that includes a grand ballroom, and seven of the guest rooms, while the remaining guest rooms will be spread across the property’s cottages.

Wine lovers will note that the property neighbors the Beringer Wine Estate and offers views of the vineyards – so there won’t be far to travel to sample Napa’s best known export.

Starwood guests and timeshare owners who have a healthy balance of SPG Starpoints may be looking forward to redeeming some of those points when this hotel opens, but we wouldn’t be too optimistic about that. With just 57 rooms and suites we don’t expect there to be too much inventory left over for rewards redemptions – Starwoods Luxury Resorts brand tends to be quite popular. Let’s hope we’re wrong!
