American Express has launched two new targeted offers for stays at six of Hilton’s brands. The offers represent a potential saving of up to 25%, and as they’re valid for stays through the end of June and July, these are offers that quite a few people may be able to use.

1st Offer – Get $50 Back At Hilton, Curio & Canopy  Properties

Thoughts

$50 back on $250 of spending is a discount of 25% but, realistically, it’s likely to be a little lower unless you’re lucky enough to keep your spending as close to $250 as possible (without going under).

If you were already planning a trip then this is obviously a very nice discount to get and it may be enough to make you change any reservations you may already have. If you weren’t already looking to book a stay then this isn’t an offer that should see you making new plans.

Thoughts

I’m a fan of Embassy Suites properties (I like the fact that a lot of the properties have onsite laundry facilities) so it’s always good to see an Amex offer that could save a guest up to 25% on an upcoming stay.

As with most Amex offers, be aware that this is only valid for bookings made at properties in the US and US territories so, even if you were feeling adventurous and planning to head abroad, this rebate would not be triggered elsewhere.

Don’t Rush To Load The Deals

American Express often targets multiple cards belonging to the same person for these offers but that can cause an issue.

As soon as an offer is loaded to one card it will disappear from all the other cards so, as the first card on which you see these offers may not be the best one to load them to, you should take your time deciding what the best course of action is.

Ideally, you’ll see both of these offers targeted to a Hilton co-branded card (like the Hilton Honors Surpass card (review) which earns 12 Honors points/dollar on Hilton spending) but, failing that, you should be looking to load it to a good travel card like the Amex Green card. which will earn 3 Membership Rewards points per dollar for all travel spending.

Personally, I’ve been targeted on my Platinum Card (review), Amex EveryDay Card, and Blue Business Plus Card (review) so, as the latter is the only card with which I’ll earn more than 1 point/dollar on Hilton spending, that’s the card to which I loaded the offers.

Bottom Line

While not exactly amazing, these offers still represent very good value if you were already planning a trip. More importantly, they’re also a good way to recoup part of whatever annual fees you may have paid for your cards.

There’s no penalty for loading the offers and then not using them so, even if you have no immediate plans to stay at a Hilton property, I suggest you load these offers to your card(s) just in case your plans change.
