After the flurry of targeted hotel offers that were launched earlier this week (Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, and SLH) and an Air France offer that appears to have been narrowly targeted, I wasn’t expecting to see a useful Amex offer in my account this Friday morning.
Well, Amex surprised me, because a new British Airways offer has just appeared.
Spend $2,000 and get $300 back with British Airways
Get a one-time $300 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $2,000 in one or more purchases online at britishairways.com by 11/11/2023. Flight must originate in US and be charged in USD to qualify.
- Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem.
- Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels.
- Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card.
- Offer valid only on flights booked directly with British Airways online at US website britishairways.com, through British Airways US app or by phone at 1-800-247-9297.
- Flights must originate in the US; including US territories, and be charged in USD to qualify.
- Offer valid on flights only.
- Excludes purchases made through partner sites, agents, affiliates, and third parties.
- Excludes tickets purchased in-person at airport ticket offices.
- Limit of 1 statement credit per Card Member.
- Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 11/11/2023, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase.
- Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account.

The good news is that multiple purchases totaling $2,000 or more will trigger this offer so you don’t have to spend the whole amount in one transaction.
The bad news is that the offer must be triggered by 11 November (which doesn’t give cardholders much time to find flights they’d like to book) and it’s only valid on trips originating in the United States.
Obviously, you don’t actually have to fly by 11 November to trigger this offer – you just have to have paid for your fare(s) by then – so this deal should cover travel into September 2024 and, I guess, that’s also good news.
If you’re considering a Business Class booking, keep in mind that while it used to be hard to recommend British Airways thanks to its appalling and antiquated ying-yang Business Class cabins, a lot of the aircraft that it now operates across the pond feature the new Club Suite (seen in this article’s featured image) which is a vast improvement on the old product.
If you keep away from the airline’s A380s (which all still feature the seat from the stone age) and look for a Business Class cabin that offers a 1-2-1 layout, you should be just fine.
Disappointingly, I don’t appear to have this offer targeted to card_name or even the card_name so my potential points earnings from this offer are limited (I’m only seeing it on my card_name, my Amex EveryDay® Credit Card, and my Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card which is no longer open to new applicants).
Hopefully, TFM readers will have more luck as pairing this offer with the 3 points/dollar that the American Express® Green Card offers on travel spending (terms apply) or, better yet, pairing it with the 5 points/dollar that card_name offers on up to $500,000 of spending made directly with airlines or on flights booked through Amex Travel (1 point/dollar thereafter – terms apply), would really put the icing on the cake.
Note: All information about the American Express® Green Card, the Amex EveryDay® Credit Card and the Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card has been collected independently by Traveling For Miles. The American Express® Green Card, the Amex EveryDay® Credit Card and the Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card are not currently available through Traveling For Miles.
If you’re considering booking a transatlantic flight in the next few weeks (for travel as far into the future as September 2024), log into your Amex account and check to see if you have been targeted for an offer that would save you $300 on $2,000 of spending with British Airways.
Has anyone had better luck than me? Has anyone had this offer targeted to a card with solid earnings for travel/flight bookings?
