As the seriousness of the travel crisis started to become more obvious, American Express took steps to ensure that the more travel-focused credit cards in its portfolio maintained a bit of relevance in a world where travel wasn’t really an option for most. Various new card benefits were added, but for holders of select Membership Rewards cards, the more valuable benefits were the additional monthly statement credits that were introduced in May.

This is a reminder that as we approach the end of August, anyone who hasn’t used their Amex credits this month is running out of time to do so.
