UPDATE 19 March 2018: A350-1000 Qsuite service now extended to 30 June 2018 (but on different flight numbers) and other changes too.

As things stand the Doha – London route offers more Qsuite equipped aircraft then any other route Qatar Airways flys….but that’s about to change.

If you were flying out of Doha or London on Qatar Airways today you would have the choice of three different flights that offer the airline’s excellent Qsuites Business Class product. However, if you’re planning on flying between London and Doha in the coming months you have to be very careful which flights you choose – the flights offering Qsuites today may not be the same flights offering Qsuites in a few weeks or months time.

Today flights QR8, QR2 and QR16 departing London for Doha all offer the Qsuite Business Class cabin which, if at all possible, should be the Qatar Airways Business Class cabin you should be booking.

Flight QR8 from London to Doha

Between 31 March and 19 April 2018 the Boeing 777 aircraft operating flight QR8 from London (and QR7 from Doha) no longer offers the Qsuite Business Class product.

ExpertFlyer is showing that 30 March 2018 is the last day the aircraft has the Qsuite seat map….

….and it moves to the regular 777 seat map on 31 March 2018:

Flight QR2 from London to Doha

Update 19 March 2018: Short reprieve for flights QR1/QR2 which will now continue with Qsuites service for a little longer than previously scheduled.

From 1 May 2018 the Airbus A350-900 aircraft operating flight QR2 from London (and QR1 from Doha) is replaced by the larger Airbus A350-1000 which also offers the Qsuite Business Class Cabin.

The A350-1000 is currently scheduled to operate flight QR2 through 30 June 2018

From 1 July 2018 the flight is taken over by an Airbus A350-900 which, at the time of writing, is not equipped with the Business Class cabin:

The regular A350 Business Class seats are a step down from the Qsuites (every Business Class cabin is a step down from the Qsuites) but they’re still very good indeed.

Flight QR16 from London to Doha

Flight QR16 from London to Doha (and QR15 going in the opposite direction) is currently operated by Qatar Airways’ brand new Airbus A350-1000. This aircraft was originally only scheduled to fly this route until 24/25 March but this has now been extended.

As things stand the Qsuite equipped A350-1000 is now set to operate on this route through to 30 April 2018 and will be replaced by a non Qsuite equipped 777-300ER from 1 May 2018.

Bottom Line

Aircraft rosters are always subject to change so its possible that Qatar Airways will play around with its schedules a bit more and we’ll see different options appear on the Doha-London route going forward.

However, based on what the schedules are showing right now here’s the situation:

  • Through 30 March 2018 Qatar Airways will continue to offer its Qsuites Business Class cabin on 3 daily flights.
  • Between 31 March & 30 April two flights will offer Qsuites Business Class (QR2 & QR16)
  • Between 30 April & 30 June one flight will offer Qsuites Business Class (QR2)
  • From 1 July onwards one flight will offer Qsuites Business Class (QR8)

If you’re planning to book any Qatar Airways Business flights between London and Doha you should always be looking to book into a Qsuite cabin so bear in mind the changes I’ve detailed above when making any plans.

You can book the Qsuites via this link on the Qatar Airways website
