Anyone who has had to homeschool their children through lockdown probably has a little more respect for the amazing job that a lot of teachers do every day they turn up at work and, as a thank you for the efforts that teachers are putting in right now, Qatar Airways has announced that it is offering complimentary flight tickets to 21,000 teachers around the world.

The Prize

All teachers who are selected will receive a complimentary Economy Class ticket to any Qatar Airways destination around the world as well as a 50% discount for a future flight with Qatar Airways which can be used for the participant, a friend or a family member.

A limited number of promo codes will be distributed per country daily from 5-7 October 2020.  Please check this page after 4 am Qatar time (GMT +3) to fill out the form. The promo code allocation will be refreshed daily at the same time.

How To Participate

Register for a chance of a complimentary ticket via this page after 4 am Qatar time (GMT +3) daily. Registration involves filling out a form with all your details together with details of your job.

Promo codes (for a free ticket) are limited to 21,000 and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to entry validation and review. A daily allocation of codes will be distributed by country throughout the promotion period. The allocation is refreshed daily at 4 a.m. Doha time (GMT+3).

All entries are subject to review and validation. Successful participants will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of registering on qatarairways.com. The Complimentary Flight promo code is assigned to the successful participant based on the information provided in the form and is non-transferable.

The Conditions

  • The promotion runs between 5 and 7 October 2020
  • The promo code must be used for a booking by 1 November 2020
  • Valid travel dates are 20 October 2020 through 30 September 2021. All Travel must be completed by 30 September 2021.
  • The promo code is valid for a single booking for one adult ticket (age 12+) and is valid on Qatar Airways operated return (roundtrip) itineraries worldwide, excluding codeshare and interline partnerships.
  • The Complimentary Flight Promo Code must be entered in the booking widget at the time of flight search.
  • Complimentary tickets are limited to the “W” booking class in the Economy Class Promo fare family.
  • When the Complimentary Flight Promo Code is used, the ‘fare per passenger’ and the “carrier imposed international surcharge” amounts, found in the Price Breakdown after flight selection, will be waived. However, any other taxes, service fees or standard market charges will be payable by passengers and will be displayed at the time of booking.

Eligibility

  • This initiative is strictly available to School Teachers only. Eligible teacher professions and Job Types are limited to: Classroom Paraprofessional, Teaching Assistant & Substitute, Intervention & Inclusion Specialist, Tutor, Senior Leader, Early Childhood Teacher, Student counsellor, Primary Teacher, Secondary Teacher, Casual Teacher, ESL Teacher, Special Ed Teacher, Teacher Aide, Vocational Education and Training (VET) Instructor, Pre-School & Early Years Practitioner, and Classroom Technician.
  • Eligible participants must reside in a county where Qatar Airways operates direct flights through Doha.
  • Successful participants who receive a promo code and book a complimentary flight must present the following documents of authenticity at the airport check-in desk at the time of departure:
    • An official stamped and signed letter from the Institution or School of current employment, which must clearly state the occupation, country of employment, Staff ID or Reference Number matching the information submitted on the campaign registration form.
    • Copies or photographs of this letter will not be accepted.
    • An Employment ID or a Reference Number Certificate. A ‘Reference Number’ relates to a Professional Teacher Registration Number assigned by a Board of Education or Ministry Register.
    • Boarding will be denied, should any customer fail to provide the required physical documents of authenticity i.e. Official Employment Letter, Staff ID or Reference number certificate in addition to regular passport documents.

Bottom Line

Qatar Airways is offering 21,000 complimentary Economy Class tickets to school teachers around the world. The tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis (after eligibility has been confirmed) so anyone hoping to make the most of this offer should be prepared to apply at 04:00 Doha Time (that’s 21:00 ET & 18:00PT the day before) to maximize their chances. Each country that Qatar Airway serves is allocated its own batch of tickets so you will only ever be in “competition” with people from your own country.
