In early 2018, Emirates launched a new First Class product on a small number of its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and the new cabin was instantly hailed as the best First Class product in the skies.
Shortly after the initial excitement started to fade, people started noticing one small issue when it came to booking the super-deluxe product – it was very hard to find.
Even today, Emirates has just 9 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in its fleet which are equipped with its new First Class cabin and, for an airline with over 265 aircraft in total, that isn’t very many at all – that makes it even more important to keep an eye on which routes Emirates new First Class can be found.
Emirates 777-300ER ‘New’ First Class
Emirates’ new 777 First Class cabin features just 6 First Class suites (compared to 14 older suites on the A380) and is a quite remarkable product.
The suites are completely different from what is offered on any other Emirates aircraft and offer incredible levels of privacy courtesy of floor to ceiling walls.
The 6 suites are arranged in a 1-1-1 cabin layout which means that two of the suites don’t have access to the aircraft’s windows….and this was an issue for Emirates.
Emirates didn’t like the thought that two of its First Class flyers wouldn’t be able to see what’s going on in the outside world so, at quite some expense, the airline installed virtual windows for these suites.
The virtual windows use images taken from cameras built into the exterior of the aircraft to project live high definition views on to the “windows” built into the center suites.
How that for futuristic technology in the skies?! 🙂
With fully customizable lighting, an intercom system that allows a passenger to video-chat to one (or more) of the flight attendants, and an impressive selection of meals and drinks, this really is as close to decadence as you can get on a commercial aircraft.
Emirates New First Class Routes
I’m going to do my best to keep this list as up to date as I can so it would be incredibly helpful if readers would email in any new route information that doesn’t already appear here.
As of 31 July 2019, Emirates offers its new First Class cabin on its routes between Dubai and the following destinations:
- Brussels
- Frankfurt
- Geneva
- Kuwait
- London Stanstead
- Male (Maldives)
- Riyadh
- Tokyo Haneda
- Vienna
Be sure to note that Emirates offers multiple daily flights to most of these destinations, so you have to be careful to select the correct flight/aircraft if you’re to be as sure as possible of flying in the airline’s new First Class cabin.
Also, be aware that Emirates will occasionally schedule a 777-300ER to fly a limited number of flights to a new destination (Houston got a taste of the new First Class cabin for a limited time earlier this year as did Hamburg in the first half of 2018) but these temporary routes are not mentioned above.
How To Identify Emirates’ New First Class Cabin
There are two simple steps you need to take when looking to book an aircraft offering the new Emirates First Class cabin:
- Confirm that the aircraft operating the flight(s) you’re considering is an Emirates 777
- Confirm that the First Class cabin(s) you’re looking to book offers just 6 (six) First Class suites.
The only Emirates First Class cabin with just 6 suites/seats is the new First Class product so, if you see just 6 seats on an aircraft seat plan, you know what product you’re looking at.

Please be very aware that airlines can (and do) swap aircraft around when their operations require them to so there is never a 100% guarantee that a flight/route you book won’t suffer a last-minute aircraft swap.
