UPDATE 22 July 2019: British Airways has scheduled refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft to operate on multiple routes during Winter 2019/20 – as things stand the schedulling is extraordinarily complicated but there’s information posted below which should be of help.

Back in March British Airways finally unveiled the long-awaited replacement for its ancient Club World seat and, from what we’ve seen so far, the new British Airways Club World Suite looks like it’s going to be a huge improvement.

Following the popularity of the post detailing the routes on which Qatar Airways offers its Qsuites Business Class seat I thought I’d start a post to list out the routes on which you can find British Airways offering its new Club World Suite….so here it is.

Summary As At 22 July 2019

Note: Should a route only offer the Club Suites on a temporary basis it will not be shown in this list.

The new Club World Suite is a massive step up from anything we’ve seen in a British Airways Business Class cabin before and will form part of an all-aisle-access cabin with a 1-2-1 layout.

All the the new Club World Suites will offer passengers a personal door, 40% more storage than the current Club World seat, a vanity unit with mirror, 18.5″ IFE screen and PC/USB power.

As the new suite is being delivered onboard new aircraft, passengers in the new Business Class cabin will also have access to wi-fi and ‘gate-to-gate’ HD entertainment.

How British Airways Will Roll Out The New Club Wolrd Suite

The new Club World Suite will make its debut on BA’s new A350-1000 aircraft (the first of which should be delivered in the next few weeks) and will also start to appear on the airline’s Boeing 777s from late 2019.

The new Boeing 787-10 aircraft which British Airways is scheduled to receive in 2020 will be delivered with the new Club World Suite in place and Alex Cruz (the CEO of British Airways) has confirmed that, eventually, all of the airline’s Dreamliners and Airbus A380s will be fitted with the new seat too (the retrofit process is due to start in early 2020).

How To Spot An Aircraft With The New Club World Suites

It’s all about the seat map.

A British Airways long-haul aircraft with the old-style Club World seats will have a Business Class seat map similar to the one you see below.

There will always be two seats by the windows on either side of the aircraft with the central section offering between 3 to 4 seats depending on the aircraft type (the upper deck of the 747 is an exception as it doesn’t have a central section).

A British Airways long-haul aircraft with the new Club World Suites will have a Business Class seat map similar to the one you see below.

The cabin layout will show a 1-2-1 seating arrangement with only one seat by the windows on either side of the aircraft.

Information last updated 22 July 2019

Abuja (ABV)

This information has been added as part of a complicated set of schedule updates from BA. At the time of writing the situation is fluid and the only information available is presented below – this will be updated when things become clearer.

A 777 aircraft offering the new Club Suites will operate….

  • 2 flights/week from 30 January 2020
  • 3 flights/week from 18 February 2020
  • 5-6 flights/week from 24 February 2020

Bangalore (BLR)

British Airways has scheduled an A350 to operate its one daily service between London and Bangalore from 1 January 2020 which is when the aircraft takes over the route from a 777.

Here’s the currently posted schedule:

BA119 LHR 13:45 – 05:00+1 day BLR (Daily)
BA118 BLR 07:00 – 12:40 LHR (Daily)

As things stand, the A350-1000 only appears on the Heathrow – Bangalore route through 28 March 2020 but, as that’s just when BA’s winter season officially ends, it’s possible that the A350 will reappear on this route after that date when BA updates its 2020 summer schedule.

Boston (BOS)

Dubai is now set to be the first British Airways destination to get the new Club World suites when an A350-1000 aircraft takes over flights BA107/BA106 from 2 September 2019.

From 1 March 2020 a second Airbus A350-1000 joins the Heathrow – Dubai route taking over flights BA105/BA104.

Here’s the schedule from 1 March 2020:

BA107 LHR 12:35 – 23:45 DXB (Daily)*
BA105 LHR 20:40 – 07:45+1 day DXB (Daily)**

**New Club World Suites onboard from 1/2 March 2020

With the schedules as they stand right now, both Airbus A350s (complete with the new Club World Suite) are only set to operate between London and Dubai through 28/29 March 2020 but, once BA updates its schedule for 2020, it’s very likely that at least one A350 will continue operating this route into the summer season.

On 27 October a British Airways 777 aircraft with flight number BA177 will depart from London Heathrow for New York JFK at 1:00 pm and will be the first Club Suite equipped aircraft to operate to the US.

The aircraft will turn around and return to the UK as BA174 at 7:50 pm on the same day.

Here’s the full schedule:

BA177 LHR 13:00 – 17:10 JFK
BA174 JFK 19:50 – 06:50+1 day LHR

BA177/BA174 is scheduled to operate with a reconfigured 777 on multiple dates through 25 March 2020 (the end of the winter season) but I suspect we’ll see that run extended further once BA updates its summer timetable.

In addtion to the above, a 777 aircraft offering the new Club Suites will operate….

  • BA115/176 – From 2 November 2019 – 1/week (not at all in February 2020)
  • BA175/116 – From 9 December 2019 – multiple days per week
  • BA173/112 – Between 2 January & 20 February 2020 – 2/week

A 777 aircraft offering the new Club Suites will operate….

  • BA53/52 – from 2 January 2020 – 1/week (not 20 February – 19 March 2010)
  • BA49/48 – from 20 February 2020 – multiple days

Tel Aviv (TLV)

From 1 December 2019 British Airways will start to operate an A350-1000 between London and Tel Aviv with the aircraft operating the later (overnight) flight on the outbound and the earlier (morning) flight on the inbound journey.

From 30 January 2020 BA165/164 will be operated by a renovated 777 on multiple dates so there will now be days on which both daily flights between London and Tel Aviv will offer the new Business Class product.

BA165 LHR 08:05 – 14:50 TLV (Daily)
BA163 LHR 20:55 – 03:40+1 day TLV (Daily)*

BA162 TLV 06:15 – 09:40 LHR (Daily)*
BA164 TLV 16:40 – 20:00 LHR (Daily)

*A350 with new Club World Suites onboard

With British Airways yet to update its summer 2020 schedule the A350 is only currently set to operate on this route through 28 March 2020 but, with Virgin Atlantic now offering competition on this route, I’d be surprised if the aircraft didn’t return when BA’s summer 2020 plans are firmed up.

Toronto (YYZ)

a city skyline with many buildings

The new Club World Suite is currently set to make its debut on BA’s London – Toronto route from 1 October 2019 but the airline has also mentioned that an earlier entry into service may be possible.

Here’s the schedule from 1 October:

BA93 LHR 13:05 – 15:55 YYZ (Daily)*
BA99 LHR 16:55 – 19:45 YYZ (Daily)

BA92 YYZ 18:30 – 06:40+1 day LHR (Daily)*
BA98 YYZ 21:55 – 10:00+1 day LHR (Daily)

*New Club World Suites onboard

As things stand, the A350-1000 only appears to be operating flights BA93/BA92 through 28 March 2020 but, as that’s just when BA’s winter season officially ends, it’s quite likely that we’ll see the A350 continuing to operate these flights after that date when BA updates its 2020 summer schedule.
