Marriott Adds An Autograph Collection Hotel In Portland, Oregon

The Press Hotel, described as a “lifestyle boutique” hotel has joined the Marriott family of hotels as part of the Autograph Collection.

The Press Hotel is brand new (opened in early May) and is located in the historic Portland Press Herald newspaper building. Early reviews on TripAdvisor are mostly good but it’s much too early to be able to reach a solid conclusion.

The Autograph Hotels were added to the Marriott portfolio to add a boutique range to the company’s offering. With so many Marriott’s being designed to similar, boiler plate, specifications, it’s easy to feel that their main hotel chain lacks some charm and the Autograph Hotels were brought in help combat this perception. My own experiences with Autograph Collection hotels are limited but a stay at St. Ermin’s in London was memorable and I’d definitely visit again.
