Marriott has launched a 7-day set of promotions which when bundled together it’s calling its “Week of Wonders”. The deals on offer include discounted awards nights, discounts on Marriott’s boutique (amenity) ranges, free nights for Homes & Villas bookings, and more.

Marriott’s Week Of Wonders Promotions

Wonders of Discovery

Through 15 October 2020 Bonvoy members can book Reward nights “for up to 33%” less and Marriott has said that, effectively, “all redemption pricing at participating hotels will be in off-peak rates“.

More than a little annoyingly Marriott doesn’t appear to have provided any terms and conditions on the specific promotion page so there’s no guide telling Bonvoy members how far out they can book. Fortunately, the Marriott press release gives us more information – the booking period only goes out to 30 November 2020.

Wonders of Comfort

If you’ve ever stayed at a Marriott property and thought that you’d like to have one or more of the amenities on offer available to you at home, Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques has you covered. Now, and only through 15 October, Marriott is offering 30% off all merchandise including items like The Westin Heavenly Bed, The Ritz-Carlton Fragrance Collection, EDITION Hotels La Labo amenities, St. Regis Frette Collection, and W Hotels robes.

Wonders of Rejuvenation

This isn’t so much a new promotion as two old promotions put together and wrapped up in new packaging – this is Marriott Bonvoy Escapes with Marriott Escape To Luxury in a slightly different guise.

Hotels and resorts throughout the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America are offering discounts of up to 25% on the best flexible rate.

Wonders of Excitement

This is simply a restatement of Marriott’s promotion that’s running through 18 October and which is offering Bonvoy members 2,500 points for each stay and a one-time bonus of 5,000 points after three stays.

Link to more details on this promotion.

Other Marriott Promotions

Buy Marriott Points – Marriott is currently running a points sale in which it’s offering a 50% bonus on all purchases of 2,000 points or more. This could be useful if you need to top up an account to make the most of the lower Reward Night rates that are on offer through 30 November (link to more sale details)

Eat Out & Earn – Earn 8 Bonvoy Points per dollar through the Marriott Eat About Town program (link to more details)

Homes & Villas Offer – Members who book and stay with Homes & Villas by Marriott International between 8 October and 31 December 2020 will earn a free night award for future use at one of Marriott’s hotels (worth up to 35,000 points) – link to the promotion page.

All-Inclusive – Almost exactly a year ago, Marriott announced that it would be introducing all-inclusive resorts into its portfolio (link to details). Now Marriott is inviting Bonvoy members to an “exclusive preview experience to enjoy the most coveted all-inclusive stays in the Caribbean and Latin America while earning Marriott Bonvoy Points.” (link to All-inclusive page).

Stackable Promotions

Holders of American Express Marriott Bonvoy credit cards can earn 10 points/dollar for spending made on their Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card at Marriott properties around the world through 31 October 2020. (maximum spending limit of $7,500).

Targeted Amex credit card holders can get a one-time $75 statement credit by using their card to spend a minimum of $250 on room rate and room charges at Marriott Bonvoy properties through 31 December 2020 (more details).

Chase has recently published a new welcome offer for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless credit card and it’s the most rewarding welcome offer the card has ever had. New cardholders can earn 5 free night certificates (valid at Marriott properties costing 50,000 points or less per night) after they spend $5,000 on their new Boundless Card in the first 3 months following account opening (OFFER NOW EXPIRED)

Bottom Line

Marriott has published a small list of promotions that it’s running through 15 October. None of the promotions are particualry amazing but if you have the need to travel before the end of November, the reduced cost of award nights could be helpful.

  1. I’m missing where the 33% discount comes up? Every property I have checked is just normal standard or off-peak pricing?

    • I suspect (and I’m not in a position to check this right now) that somewhere in Marriott’s award chart there’s a 33% difference between peak and off-peak pricing which allows Marriott to say that it’s offering up to 33% off when what it’s actually doing is offering off peak pricing across the board
