The U.S. Bank Business Cash Rewards Mastercard is a business credit card that comes with no annual fee, that offers cash back on key business expenses, that offers an annual bonus on all the cash back earned and that offers a 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers.

At a time when miles and points that are best used for travel are out of favor, this is a card whose cash back options may well be worth a closer look.

How Cash Back Rewards Are Paid

There’s a minimum redemption limit of $25 for U.S. bank Rewards and all rewards must be cashed out in increments of $25.

Cardholders can choose to have their rewards redeemed in one of three ways:

  1. A deposit into a U.S. Bank Savings, Checking, or Money Market Account
  2. Added to a U.S. Bank Rewards Card
  3. A statement credit to your Account.

Note: A U.S Bank Business Cash rewards card account must be open, current, and otherwise in good standing to be eligible to redeem a reward. If the account is closed for any reason or inactive for 18 consecutive months, or if minimum payments are not made by the payment due date for two consecutive billing periods, all rewards remaining on the account will be forfeited.

Why This Is A Good Card

Low Fees

The U.S. Bank Business Cash Rewards Mastercard doesn’t charge an annual fee so as long as you pay off your balance at the end of each billing period (i.e you don’t get charged interest), all the cash back on offer is essentially free.

Good Welcome Cashback Offer

The current welcome offer of 3% cash back on spending in all categories in the first 180 days after opening a new account (up to a total of $500 cash back) is a very nice deal and for 180 days, it makes this the best all-around cash back card available.

Cashback Is Simple & Not Capped

The U.S. Bank Business Cash Rewards Card doesn’t require a cardholder to understand a complex rewards currency or require a cardholder to work out the best way to maximize the value that the card provides – it offers simple cashback which does not expire as long as the account remains open.

A 3% return on spending at office supply stores, gas stations and on spending made with cell phone/service providers is a strong return for a no annual fee card, and although it’s not quite as high as the 5% return offered in similar categories by the Ink Business Cash credit card, the cash back from the US Bank Business Cash Rewards Card isn’t capped (the Ink card only offers 5% cash back on the first $25,000 in combined purchases in its bonus categories).

Annual Bonus Cashback

The U.S. Bank Business Cash Rewards Card offers a 25% bonus on cash back earned in a cardholder year up to a maximum of $250.

Assuming a cardholder is only using this card for purchases that offer 3% cash back, this bonus effectively means that the card offers a strong earnings rate of 3.75% on the first $33,333 of spending in the bonus categories.

Bottom Line

The U.S. Bank Business Cash Rewards Card is a solid cash back card that returns a good rate of return in a number of key business spending categories.

More importantly, at a time when retaining cash is probably the single most important thing that a lot of businesses are focusing on, the fact that this card doesn’t charge an annual fee makes it a very useful option to have while we all ride out the current crisis.

This isn’t the greatest cash back card of all time, but it’s a very good one indeed.
