JAL (Japan Airlines) Introduces JAL Countdown App for Android Wear – customers will be able to use a barcode on the app to pass through security checkpoints as well as “track real-time flight status, check details on boarding gates, boarding times, and receive alerts counting down to the flight’s departure – from a day ahead down to the hours, minutes and beyond.” – via JAL.

EU to ban mobile roaming charges for calls, data – from 2017. Reduced charges to apply from 2016 – via Australian Business Traveller.

EasyJet’s response to Airport Commission recommendation – EasyJet supports the commissions findings that a 3rd runway for London’s Heathrow airport is a good idea –The Mayor of London isn’t exactly on the same page.

As I posted a month ago, ANA is to launch new Tokyo-Brussels service (see the original post for more details) and now ANA has announced the timings and the aircraft to be used.

A the time I was concerned that they’d use their new 787-900 aircraft for the route and, with just 18 business class seats and no premium economy, I wasn’t looking forward to that idea. The good news is that it will be a 787-800 that flies the route with 46 business class seats and no premium economy so award redemptions should be easier.

Korean Air brings Airbus A380, Boeing 777 onto Sydney-Seoul route – for the peak Australian summer period only. Specifically 26 October to 1 December the 777 will replace the smaller A330 and then the Z380 will take over for 2 December to 27 March 2016 – via Australian Business Traveller.
