The World Sale offers are only available via this IHG page so don’t be too surprised if the discounts don’t appear elsewhere.

Discounts & Things To Note

The sale prices are based on the “best flexible rate” so you should make sure you check the pre-paid rates too just to makes sure you’re not overpaying (obviously pre-paid rates will only be of use if your plans are firm and unlikely to change).

The discount available isn’t consistent…not even if you’re just checking availability at one single property.

Take the new (and impressive looking) InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown (which I wrote about here):

I’ve seen nights with discounts of 22% (not too bad)….

…but I’ve also seen nights where the discount falls to 17% or even 15% (not that impressive)….

I haven’t done all that much digging around (I’ve spent most of this week on aircraft with no wi-fi!) but I haven’t yet noticed an InterContinental property offering the full 30% discount.

Still…

The IC Paris Le Grand can be booked with a 22% discount:

I’ve spotted the InterContinental London Park Lane is available with a 27% discount:

The InterContinental Bangkok can be booked with a 23% discount….

…and I’ve even seen the fantastic InterContinental Bora Bora Resort Thalasso Spa offering 20% off:

Joanna and I visited this Bora Bora resort in 2016 so, if you’d like to know a bit more, check out these two posts:

Bottom Line

If you’ve been looking to book an IHG property then this could be a good chance to get a discount on whatever property you have been considering.

If you can be flexible with your dates make sure you look around and see which dates offer the best discount for your destination – I’ve seen big swings (from day to day) in the discounts on offer so a little bit of flexibility may save you quite a bit.

Lastly, don’t forget that IHG Rewards bookings are also flexible so, if you have some points in your account they could save you even more than the discounts on offer here.

If you’re short a few points then IHG is offering a 100% bonus on points sales through 8 December and you can manufacture a limited number of IHG points for just 0.489 cents each too.
