Unlike a lot of loyalty programs, Iberia Plus ignores the calendar year and operates its membership qualification year between April and March (I have no idea why). With six months still left of the current elite status qualification year, Iberia Plus has decided to extend the elite statues of all its members and it has launched a promotion offering double elite points.

If you’re an Iberia Plus elite status holder, your status is now safe through 31 March 2022 and if you don’t already hold top-tier status Iberia would like to tempt you to fly by offering you 2x elite points on flights taken on select airlines though 31 March 2021.

The participating airlines are as follows:

  • British Airways
  • Iberia
  • Iberia Express
  • Iberia Regional Air Nostrum
  • LEVEL
  • Vueling

The double elite points offer is valid for one way or roundtrip bookings on routes operated by the airlines listed above so if you’ve managed to book any of the fantastic fares that British Airways is offering right now, this could be a very nice path to improved status.

Some may be wondering what the point of earning tier points is when Iberia has already extended statuses, but just because someone’s current elite status has been extended doesn’t mean that they cannot improve that status if they’re happy to fly between now and the end of March next year – that’s where these bonus elite points come into play.

Bottom Line

If you have elite status with Iberia Plus it’s now locked in through 31 March 2022 and if you’re in a position to fly, Iberia will give you double elite points on all flights operated by select airlines through 31 March 2021.
