If you’re in the ever-growing group of travelers who are choosing to book vacation rentals over hotels, it’s important you realize that you don’t have to pass up on earning miles and points just because your chosen accommodation isn’t part of a major corporation. Sometimes it may take a bit of effort to maximize your earnings, but the earning opportunities are still there. You just have to know where to look.
Which Airlines Partner With Airbnb?
At the time of writing, just 4 airlines partner with Airbnb but I plan to keep this blog post updated as more airline partners are added so it may be a good idea to bookmark this page for future reference.

ANA
Earning on Airbnb Stays
ANA Mileage Club members in Japan can earn miles through bookings made with Airbnb and in-depth details of the partnership can be found via ANA’s dedicated Airbnb page.
Mileage Club members will earn 1 mile for every ¥200 spent with Airbnb, and first time Airbnb users can earn double miles and get a ¥3,000 discount on their first booking.
The promotion for new Airbnb users is for reservations made by 30 June 2021 (the actual stay dates can be beyond this date) but this date is far from set in stone – ANA has extended this deal at least three times so far so there’s every chance that it will be extended again.
Note: only bookings made directly through the ANA Airbnb page will earn miles.
Earning for renting out your property
At the time of writing, there are no publically available ANA Mileage Club offers for new hosts on Airbnb.
British Airways/Avios
Earning on Airbnb Stays
Using the dedicated page British Airways has set up for its partnership with Airbnb, first time Airbnb users can collect 6 Avios per £1/€1/$1 spent as a welcome bonus. All other Airbnb users can earn 2 Avios per £1/€1/$1 spent with Airbnb.
The British Airways Airbnb page offered 3 Avios per £1/€1/$1 until early in 2020 and until late last year so did the British Airways UK shopping portal. The portal’s rate has now been dropped to 2 Avios per £ but it’s worth checking the shopping portal before you make any bookings just in case the rate has been boosted.
Sadly, the US version of the British Airways shopping portal doesn’t currently show any offers for Airbnb, but offers may reappear once the current travel crisis starts to abate.
Earning for renting out your property
A the time of writing, the British Airways Airbnb page doesn’t show any offers for landlords but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t often ways to earn Avios from hosting. Right now, most Airbnb offers appear to have been pulled as the world struggles to cope with the pandemic but in better times. US Avios collectors should always check the British Airways Avios eStore while UK-based Avios collectors should check TopCashback.co.uk whose cash back can be paid out in the form of Avios.
Note: The terms and conditions of the British Airways/Airbnb partnership appear to suggest that it’s possible for rental prices to be higher when you choose to visit Airbnb through the British Airways site rather than heading directly to Airbnb.com – make sure you compare prices before you commit to a booking.
Delta
Earning on Airbnb Stays
Using the dedicated page Delta has set up for its partnership with Airbnb, Delta SkyMiles members can earn 1 Mile per $1 spent with Airbnb.
Historically, Delta has offered bonuses to SkyMiles members making their first booking through Airbnb (the last bonus I remember seeing was for $1,000 with a minimum booking requirement of $150 or foreign equivalent) but, right now there doesn’t seem to be a welcome offer in place.
There’s no minimum spend required to earn SkyMiles through Airbnb but be aware that miles will be awarded on the cost of the rental less taxes and fees. It’s also important to note that only bookings made via Delta’s Airbnb page will earn SkyMiles.
Earning for renting out your property
At the time of writing, there is no publically available SkyMiles offer for new hosts on Airbnb – it may be worth checking TopCashback.com from time to time to see if any new offers have been made available.
Qantas
Earning on Airbnb Stays
Qantas has a dedicated page where you can earn points for Airbnb and hotel stays and the airline offers 1 Qantas Point per AU$1 spent through Airbnb. 500 bonus Qantas Points will be also be awarded to Qantas Frequent Flyer members who make their first Airbnb booking via the Qantas Airbnb site.
Should your Airbnb rental not be charged in Australian dollars the Australian dollar equivalent amount will be calculated by Airbnb using an exchange rate at the end of the month following your stay.
Per the terms and conditions set out by Qantas, “Qantas Points will be calculated on the final value of your booking after any amendments. Qantas Points are earned on total guest fees paid to Airbnb”. This suggests that the total cost of a booking (including fees and taxes) will earn Qantas Points.
Earning for renting out your property
Historically, Qantas has offered bonuses of up to 20,000 bonus points to Qantas Frequent Flyer members who sign up as a new Airbnb host and list their first property in Australia but, at the time of writing, there are no publicly available bonuses for hosting.
