IHG has launched a new sale for participating properties in Europe and the UK and alongside an offer of up to 25% off standard rooms, the hotelier is also offering up to 20% off premium room bookings which come with breakfast and, if available, a late check-out.
IHG appears to have made a mess of the terms and conditions for the two offers (they’re mixed together and there are contradictions within them) so I’ve done my best to separate out the more important points and I’ve split them out below.
Summer starts here
This is the general sale promotion:
- Save up to 25% when using IHG’s Book Early and Save offer
- Minimum of 3-days advance booking required.
- Non-refundable deposit required in full at time of booking.
- Cancellations or changes not applicable
- The promotion is valid only for bookings made between 21 June 2022 and 2 August 2022 (both dates inclusive) for stays at participating IHG branded hotels in the UK and Europe.
- The promotion is valid only for stays made between 24 June 2022 and 31 January 2023 using the “Book Early and Save” rate.
- The Book Early and Save rate is a non-refundable rate, with full payment for the entire stay due at time of booking. No changes or cancellations can be made.
- The Promotion is valid at participating InterContinental, Regent, Kimpton, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, voco, Holiday Inn hotels and resorts located in the UK and Europe.
- In-room dining purchases, minibar purchases, private dining and other hotel incurred charges are excluded from the discount.
- City taxes may apply in some cities. Credit card guarantee is required to make a booking.
- The Promotion is not applicable to group bookings.
- The Promotion is not valid in conjunction with any other offer, discount or promotion.
- Rates are subject to availability with a limited number of rooms at participating hotels available for this Promotion.
- Blackout dates (days when the offers are not available) may apply in some participating hotels.
- Final bill will be in hotel’s local currency.

Elevate your stay
This is the promotion for premium room bookings
- The Promotion offers a discount of up to 20% off the hotel’s Best Flexible Rate, which is an unrestricted, non-qualified, non-discount rate.
- Discount is based off premium room types only.
- Book by 30 September 2022
- Stays must me made by 1 October 2022
- A minimum stay of 2 nights is required.
- Room rates are based on room & buffet breakfast basis and rates are per room, per night.
- Late check-out is offered subject to availability.
- Bookings must be made at least one day in advance of arrival.
- The Promotion is valid at participating InterContinental, Regent, Kimpton, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, voco, Holiday Inn hotels and resorts located in the UK and Europe.

Quick thoughts
There are a few key things that need to be pointed out:
Firstly – the promotions say that they offer up to 20% or 25% off so anyone booking these promotional rates should be aware that depending on the booking that they’re making, they may not get the full 20% or 25% knocked off the price.
Secondly – bookings made using IHG’s Book Early and Save offer are not refundable and so should only be made if your travel plans are firm.
Thirdly – the 20% discount from Elevate Your Stay offer is based on the “best flexible rate” so although bookings made with this offer can be changed and canceled, the discount offered will not be 20% lower than the cheapest rate that the property is offering.
Fourthly – don’t make the mistake of thinking that all IHG’s properties in Europe and the UK are participating. They’re not. Make sure you consult the list of participating properties before you waste any time looking for promotional rates at properties that aren’t participating.
Bottom line
IHG has now launched a couple of promotions for stays at select properties in Europe and the UK in which discounts of up to 20% are available on premium room bookings and discounts of up to 25% are available on regular room bookings. These deals will both stack with the IHG One Rewards “Stay your way to 4X points” promotion which runs to the end of August so if you plan carefully, it should be possible to combine a good discount with a stack of bonus points thrown in.
