Hyatt has just published a new offer in which as the headline says, guests can save up to 20% off stays made by the end of April 2023. The offer applies to over 950 Hyatt properties worldwide and is valid on bookings made throughout November 2022.

Quick thoughts

I should start off by pointing out that although over 950 properties are said to be participating, not all Hyatt hotels appear to be included in this deal – the Andaz West Hollywood, for example, doesn’t appear in searches and other properties may be excluded too.

Having said that, from the searches that I’ve performed so far, it looks like the overwhelming majority of Hyatt properties are included in this deal and you’ll even find high-end properties like the Alila in Encinitas participating.

I should also point out that I don’t think that you need to use the “UNLOCK” promo code to trigger the savings on offer as after over a dozen searches, I haven’t seen any differences between the rates that I’m offered when I use the code and when I omit it – the “book now & save 15%”, “book now and save 10%” or “book now and save 20%” options always seems to appear if the property is offering rooms in the promotion on my chosen date.

Overall and even though we’re not being offered 20% off the cheapest rates published, there are properties out there at which this discount will be useful, and the fact that the promotion rates are flexible (most seem to allow guests to cancel without penalty up to 72 hours before 23:59 on the day of arrival) is a bonus.

The fact remains, however, that the promotional rate will not always be the cheapest option available so anyone considering making a booking should check the rates (and their cancellation policies) very carefully.

Also, anyone who has access to the Hyatt Leverage program should make sure that they check the discount that the program is offering them before jumping on any other promotional rate because as I have found out, the Hyatt Leverage rates can be considerably better.

…and while I can’t always get a better deal through Hyatt Leverage than I can through this promotion…

…it’s always important to be aware that a promotional rate may not always be the best rate on offer.

Bottom line

For bookings made in November, Hyatt is now offering up to 20% off stays consumed by the end of April 2023. At some properties, this deal will unlock a good rate that beats all the others but with numerous Hyatt properties offering other deals as well, it’s important to check out all the options being offered before committing to any one particular rate.
