Miles & Smiles is the loyalty program of Turkish Airlines and as another year draws to a close, it has brought back a very popular promotion that, if I’m remembering correctly, it ran around the same time in 2021.

Through 25 December, Miles & Smiles members can get a 30% discount on select award bookings and although US cities appear to be excluded from this promotion, there should be quite a few good deals out there for anyone originating in Turkey or in any of the 100 cities outside of Turkey that are included.

30% Miles discount offer is valid on promotional award tickets for one-way or round trip flights in Business Class or Economy Class from specific destinations to all our network and from Turkiye domestic flights to these specific destinations.
Reservation changes are allowed for promotional award tickets, only for the same routes within the ticketing and the travelling dates.
Miles can be refunded within 1 year of the date of issue. Refunding Miles, changes to reservations and routes are subject to additional fees.
Miles&Smiles award ticket rules apply within the scope of the special offer.
Ticketing and travelling periods start and end according to the local time in Turkey.

Quick thoughts

Ok, so the fact that this doesn’t appear to be a promotion that covers US cities is more than a little disappointing, but if you would like to book travel on the 100+ routes covered by the terms and conditions, these are some very nice savings to be made.

Also, if you happen to have access to Citi’s ThankYou program via, for example, the Citi Premier® Card, you can transfer points across to the Miles & Smiles program to ensure that you have enough points in your account to make whatever bookings you need to make.
