Kimpton had updated a sale that has been running for a few weeks and it has improved the discounts on offer. The hotelier now claims to be offering “at least” 30% off its best flexible rates at various properties worldwide but, in reality, that’s not actually true.
Some properties are certainly now offering deals where the minimum saving is 30% (always good to see)…
…but it’s also just as easy to find properties where the savings aren’t guaranteed to be as high as 30%:
Still, it’s always good to have a sale regardless of the baseless claims hotel chains like to make so let’s take a closer look at the terms and conditions:

Kimpton likes to stress that all bookings include the following perks…
- Free WiFi and Spa Benefit for all IHG® Rewards Club members, plus Elite Members get $10 Raid the Bar credit
- Nightly hosted evening wine hour
- Complimentary morning coffee and tea service
- Yoga mat in every room
- Complimentary PUBLIC bikes
…but, before I list all the participating properties (they’ll come at the end of this post), it’s important that I point out a few things that everyone should bear in mind.
Firstly, the discounts that are on offer are applied to the best flexible rate (and not the cheapest rate the property offers) so the savings aren’t necessarily going to be as high as the headline discount rates may suggest.
Secondly, while the rate to which the discounts are applied is flexible (and therefore permits changes and cancellations up until a few days before check-in)…
…the sale rate is inflexible and required full prepayment upfront.
If you’re plans aren’t likely to be firm this isn’t a rate that will work well for you.
Thirdly, be aware the Kimpton is a fan of the ridiculous resort/destination/facility fees that seem to be popping up everywhere…
…so make you check what extras Kimpton is adding on to your stay before you book.
Bottom Line
There are some genuinely good deals available in this sale but you have to make sure you’re aware of what discount you’re actually getting, what type of booking you’re making and what added fees you’re likely to be presented with at the end of your stay.
Those who do their research will save cash with this sale and won’t be faced with any surprises at check-out. Those who choose to ignore the terms and conditions will probably end up disappointed.
