With transatlantic travel soon to be open to vaccinated travelers originating on both sides of the pond, TFM is going to go back to publishing some of the great deals that we spot for premium cabin travel. Today’s deal looks at three great oneworld fares available for travel between Milan and cities in the United States.
The Routes
- Milan – New York City
- Milan – Los Angeles
- Milan – Miami
Flights may be operated by one or more oneworld airlines and may require a layover.
Example Fares
The Miami fare is the least impressive of the three fares on offer but the non-stop fare to JFK is a very good deal and any transatlantic Business Class fare to Los Angeles (on a full-service airline) that comes in at under $1,700 is a great deal that’s well worth considering.
Fare Availability
All three fares are available across a similar time frame with the better fares appearing from the beginning of October and disappearing after the first few days of April. The December holiday period is blacked out.
Below, you’ll find screenshots from Google Flights showing availability for travel between Milan and Los Angeles for a 7-day trip and you should find that this level of availability is mirrored when you search for travel to New York and Miami.
Note: Google Flights is probably going to be the best search engine to use as it will show all the better fares – using the websites run by the individual airlines doesn’t appear to always show the best deals.
Boost Your Tier Point Earnings
If you’re a member of the British Airways Executive Club and would like to books your Tier Point balance the Los Angeles fare may be very useful.
There are a variety of routing options available with this Milan – Los Angeles fare (you may be offered stopovers in Helsinki, London, and Dallas) but the best option, if you’re looking to maximize Tier Point earnings, is a stopover at JFK.
A layover at JFK will see you earning 140 Tier Points for the flight between Milan and New York and a further 140 Tier Points for the flight between New York and Los Angeles giving you 560 Tier Points for the full roundtrip. That’s the most Tier Points that you can earn on this fare without adding in any more layovers and better yet, this routing also guarantees you lie-flat seats on every flight (routing through Helsinki, London or Dallas would see you flying on a short-haul aircraft on at least one leg of your journey).
Bottom Line
The oneworld alliance airlines are offering a number of good fares for travel between Milan and three cities in the United States. The best fares appear to be available for travel between October 2021 and the end of March 2022 with the December holidays blacked out.
