Updated 1 December 2020: Hyatt has confirmed that guests will earn double elite night credits for 2021 from stays with checkout dates between 1 January and 28 February 2021.
Today is very clearly a day of Hyatt news on Traveling For Miles. The big news from earlier is that Hyatt is reducing its elite status targets by an incredible 50% for 2021, and now I’m pleased to report that Hyatt has said that it is extending three of its current promotions (including its fantastic Bonus Journeys promotion) through to the end of February 2021 – that an extension of almost two months.
Hyatt Bonus Journeys
Through 4 January 2021 28 February 2021, World of Hyatt members can earn 3x points on all stays across all Hyatt locations worldwide. This includes:
- All traditional Hyatt brands (Andaz, Hyatt Regency, Park Hyatt, Thompson Hotels, etc…)
- MGM Resorts that participate in the World of Hyatt program
- SLH properties that participate in the World of Hyatt program
- Lindblad Expedition experiences
In addition to the above, holders of the World of Hyatt credit card and the Hyatt credit card (closed to new applicants) can earn 4x points for stays at over 350 resort properties across the world (up to 75,000 bonus points). The resorts participating in the quadruple points promotion include 160 Hyatt properties, 200 SLH properties, and a number of MGM Resort destinations.
The Bonus Journeys promotion is also currently offering guests one elite qualifying night credit towards elite status the year in which they earn it, and one bonus elite qualifying night credit towards elite status in 2021 for every night consumed by 28 February 2021. This means that if you have a stay with a check-out date between 1 January and 28 February 2021, you’ll earn double elite night credits for the 2021 qualification year (click here to see how this means that you can earn top-tier Hyatt status with as few as 10 nights at Hyatt properties).
World of Hyatt members must register to take part in the Bonus Journeys promotion (here) by 15 January 2021.
Hyatt’s Free Nights On Sale
In this fantastic promotion, all World of Hyatt members receive a rebate of 15% of any points they use for free night stays (and more) through 4 January 2021 28 February 2021. Hyatt and World of Hyatt Credit Card holders receive a further 10% back for a total rebate of 25%.
- Registration has been extended though 15 January 2021
- World of Hyatt members register here
- Hyatt and World of Hyatt Credit Card holders register here
- The rebates of between 15% and 25% are being offered on:
- Free night awards
- Points & Cash bookings
- Room upgrades
- Dining and Spa services
- Exhale classes and Spa therapies
- All of the above must be completed by 28 February 2021
- Rebates will post to member accounts 6-8 weeks after they are earned (in my experience they’re posting a lot quicker)

This offer is valid at all properties participating in the World of Hyatt program (includes SLH and MGM properties) and will stack with Hyatt’s Bonus Journeys promotion.

Hyatt’s Free Parking Promotion
Since 8 July, all World of Hyatt members have been getting free parking when redeeming points for free night bookings or for Points & Cash bookings at properties where parking can be charged to the hotel. This promotion has now been extended to 28 February 2021.
This promotion is valid for self-park and valet parking options but is not valid at Hyatt Residence Club resorts, M life Rewards destinations, or Small Luxury Hotels of the World hotels.
Top-tier World of Hyatt elites already receive free parking on award bookings so, as an added bonus, Hyatt is now offering its Globalist tier guests free parking on paid stays made through 28 February 2021. Considering the increasing number of people who are choosing to vacation closer to home or to take road trips in the place of air travel, this is a promotion that could save guests a significant amount of money (a lot of properties charge in excess of $40/night for parking).
Hyatt’s Dining Promotion
Ordinarily, World of Hyatt members earn 5 points/dollar for spending at eateries located within a variety of Hyatt properties worldwide but, since 8 July, Hyatt has been offering 3 times the number of points usually awarded (15 points per dollar). As an added bonus, when guests pay with the World of Hyatt or Hyatt Credit Card, they’ll earn 2 further points per dollar taking their earnings up to 17 points per dollar.
This promotion has now been extended through 28 February 2021.
I value World of Hyatt points at 1.4 cents each so this promotion translates to an effective rebate of up to 23.8%.
The promotion relates to dining in, take-out orders, and spending made while booking a food delivery from a participating outlet but it’s not open to guests spending the night at the property or for charges made to a room.
Also, be aware that a maximum of 100,000 bonus points can be earned per transaction and that this promotion is not valid at Hyatt Residence Club, Hyatt Ziva, or Hyatt Zilara properties.
Per Hyatt:
“For the purpose of this offer, a participating outlet is defined as any food and beverage outlet participating in the Dining, Spa and More program. Outlet participation is limited and this offer may not be available at all properties or at certain brands. Please ask outlet associates about participation or visit hyatt.com/dinelocal“
Note: Not all properties are participating in this promotion so make sure you check which eateries are included in this deal (here) before you choose where to dine.
Bottom Line
As well as announcing an incredible (temporary) drop in the number of elite nights needed to earn status in 2021, Hyatt has also extended three of its very popular promotion by almost two months. Bonus Journeys, the Free Parking Promotion, and Hyatt’s Dining Promotion will all now end on 28 February 2021 instead of 4 January 2021.
