Two small business credit cards are back to offering the best welcome offers that I ever recall them publish, but while both welcome deals are identical, it’s the all-around package offered by one of these cards that really catches the eye.
The fantastic welcome offer
For a limited time, both the card_name and the card_name are again offering a welcome bonus that allows successful new applicants to earn $900 in cash back* after they put $6,000 of eligible spending on their new card within 3 months of account opening.
There aren’t many circumstances under which $900 of cash back wouldn’t be viewed as a great bonus to be given, but when you consider that it’s now being offered by two credit cards that don’t charge an annual fee and that both offer great value to cardholders, the deal looks more than just great. It looks amazing.
*Holders of a Chase Sapphire card or the card_name can take this cash back in the form of 90,000 Ultimate Rewards points that can be transferred across to a wide variety of other loyalty programs (more details on this later).
I would choose the card_name
I love the card_name as much as anyone, but if I was in a situation where both the card_name and the card_name were available to me and I had to choose one and one only, the overall package offered by the latter would ultimately sway my decision.
If, however, I already held the card_name, I would jump at the chance to earn the latest welcome offer from the card_name.
The package
Here are a few key things that you should know about the card_name:
- It comes with a annual_fees annual fee
- There’s no charge to add authorized users
- It allows cardholders to earn 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases (1% thereafter) in the following categories each anniversary year:
- Office supply stores
- Internet
- Cable
- Phone services
- It allows cardholders to earn 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases (1% thereafter) in the following categories each anniversary year:
- Gas station purchases
- Restaurants
- Cardholders can earn 1% cash back on all other eligible transactions with no annual cap on earnings.
- It provides cardholders with primary auto rental cover when renting for business purposes
- It offers cardholders purchase protection which covers new purchases for 120 days against damage or theft up to $10,000 per claim and $50,000 per account
- It offers cardholders extended warranty protection
- Cardholders get access to roadside dispatch
Unlocking the card’s earnings power
The key to unlocking the card’ fantastic earnings power is the 5% cash back on offer at office supply stores (on up to $25,000 per year) because this is the earnings category that effectively allows cardholders to earn 5% cash back at an incredible number of other locations too.
As well as all the usual office essentials, office supply stores like Staples and Office Depot sell a wide variety of gift cards which, when purchased with the card_name will all earn a cardholder 5% cash back.
Examples of gift cards you can buy:
Travel
- Delta
- Southwest
- Hotels.com
- Airbnb
Dining/coffee shops
- California Pizza Kitchen
- Starbucks
- Cheesecake Factory
- Chili’s
- Olive Garden
- Domino’s Pizza

Retailers
- Amazon
- Apple
- Macy’s
- Nordstrom
- Crate & Barrel

- Nike
- TJ Maxx

- Home Depot
Streaming services

Other

- Fandango
Remember, all of these are just examples. There are plenty of other gift cards where those came from and buying any of them will earn a holder of the card_name 5% cash back on up to $25,000 of spending in a year.
Effectively, the card_name allows a cardholder to enjoy 5% cash back on spending made in a wider variety of categories than any other card on the market… and it comes with a annual_fees annual fee!
Getting even more value
There’s a lot to love about the card_name but while it’s a great card in its own right, it gets even better if you also hold a Sapphire consumer card (i.e. a card_name or card_name) or the card_name.
Allow me to explain.
The cash back that the card_name offers is paid out in the form of Ultimate Rewards points (1% cash back = 1 point), but these are not the same Ultimate Rewards points that are earned by the Sapphire cards or the card_name. These are points that, at best, can be redeemed as statement credits at a value of 1 cent/point.
If, however, you hold a Sapphire card or the card_name alongside the card_name, the Ultimate Rewards Points you’ll earn will all be of the same type. The better type. The type that can be converted into World of Hyatt points, United Airlines miles, Singapore Airlines miles, and a lot more in a ratio of 1:1.
What this means is that if you pair the card_name with a Sapphire Card or the card_name, you can view the earnings that it offers in terms of the currencies that you can convert the points that it earns into.
You could now view the card as one that offers 5 Hyatt points/United Airlines miles/Singapore Airlines miles/Aeroplan points/Avios per dollar on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores, and on internet, cable, and phone services, as well as 2 points/miles/Avios on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases made at gas stations and at restaurants.
Those are fantastic returns on spending and as I’ll now show, not only can these returns be had for no more than $95 in annual fees per year, but they can also be had alongside some great benefits too.
The power pairings
Both the card_name (review) and the card_name (review) only charge $95 in annual fees so someone who holds one of those cards alongside the card_name would open up access to an incredible array of benefits and earnings rates for less than $100 per year.
card_name + card_name
For $95 per year, this card pairing would offer the following:
- 5 points/dollar on travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards*
- 5 points/dollar on Lyft rides (through March 2025) – link
- 5 points/dollar on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores, and on internet, cable, and phone services
- 3 points/dollar on dining worldwide
- 3 points/dollar on online grocery spending#
- 3 points/dollar on select streaming services
- 2 points/dollar on all travel that isn’t booked through Chase Ultimate rewards^
- 2 points/dollar on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases made at gas stations and at restaurants.
- 1 point/dollar for eligible spending in all other categories
*Hotel purchases that qualify for the $50 Anniversary Hotel Credit will not earn 5 points/dollar
^Chase’s “travel” category is very broad so you’ll earn 2 points per dollar on everything from airfare, rental cars, and hotel bookings to car parking, tolls, and ride-sharing services.
#Excludes Target, Walmart, and wholesale clubs
- $50 in statement credits each card anniversary year for hotel stays purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards
- 10% anniversary points bonus (card_name only)
- Primary auto rental cover
- Trip cancellation/interruption insurance
- Baggage delay insurance
- Trip delay reimbursement
- Purchase protection
- Extended warranty protection
- No foreign transaction fees (card_name only)
- Get 1.25 cents/point in value when you spend your points on travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal
- Transfer points to 11 airline partners and 3 hotel partners in a 1:1 ratio (details)
It’s hard to think of a better value pairing between a consumer card and a small business card.

Personally, I think that the card_name/card_name combination is the better combination of the two, but I’m not about to argue with anyone who says that the card_name/card_name works better for them – each to their own!
Bottom line
The Ink Business Cash® credit card is now offering a welcome bonus that allows successful new applicants to earn $900 in cash back after they put $6,000 of eligible spending on their new card within 3 months of account opening, and when you consider this alongside the overall earnings and benefits package that this card offers, it’s hard not to think that this is one of the best credit card deals that we’ve seen this year.
