With occupancy rates at record lows, hotels are looking for more ways to bring in some much-needed cash and this is why we’ve seen the likes of Hyatt and Marriott encouraging customers to treat their properties as home offices as well as places to relax. Hilton is now getting in on the act too and it has just launched a new promotion which is offering Hilton Honors members 10,000 bonus points after they complete their first ‘WorkSpaces’ booking.

WorkSpaces By Hilton

The work-from-a-hotel offerings we’ve seen from Marriott and Hyatt so far have both had an overnight stay element to them, but WorkSpaces by Hilton appears to be focusing solely on people who would prefer not to work from home and who may be looking for an office for the day.

Hilton says that its “day-use rooms” include a “spacious desk”, ergonomic chair, enhanced WiFi, and a selection of tea and coffee. What may be of more interest to fans of the miles and points hobby is the fact that Hilton is also offering WorkSpces customers Hilton Honors points for their bookings and elite night stay credits too – booking a room at a participating Hilton property for the day will earn a Hilton Honors member 1 elite night credit. Honors members with elite status are eligible for space-available room upgrades, premium WiFi, and Executive Lounge access (where available).

The WorkSpaces by Hilton is currently only available in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and the main webpage for the program is HERE. For some unknown reason, the WorkSpaces website doesn’t appear to offer the option for visitors to price up day-room rates at all the participating properties but if you use the regular Hilton website and use promotion code DU or 1DY when doing a regular search, participating properties will appear with their associated day rate.

Be aware that, as far as I can see, some properties will only offer a day rate with one of the codes so you should try both promotion codes for your chosen destination just to make sure you’re getting the full picture.

10,000 Bonus Points

Here’s what you need to know:

  • The offer is open only to Hilton Honors members and is subject to availability at participating properties in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
  • The offer is valid for the first eligible WorkSpaces by Hilton day booking completed between 10 November 2020 and 31 March 2021.
  • Hilton Honors members will receive 10,000 bonus points for the first day stay completed during the Promotion Period
  • To be eligible for WorkSpaces by Hilton Honors Bonus Points Offer from Hilton Honors you must:
    1. Have received this offer directly from Hilton Honors
    2. Be enrolled in the Hilton Honors program
    3. Book a WorkSpaces by Hilton day rate under booking SRP DU or 1DY through your Hilton Honors account
    4. Complete the stay within the promotional stay window.
  • Please allow six to eight weeks from completion of your stay for bonus points to appear in your account.

It’s interesting that the promotion’s terms and conditions state that a member must have received the offer “directly from Hilton Honors” in order to be eligible because this promotion has been announced on Hilton’s Newsroom so it doesn’t appear to be targeted at all.

Don’t forget that you’ll earn standard Hilton Honors points for WorkSpace bookings (as well as the bonus after you first booking) and if you use the Hilton Honors Surpass Credit Card (review) or the Hilton Honors Aspire Credit Card (review) you’ll earn a further 12 or 14 points for every dollar spent.

Bottom Line

WorkSpaces by Hilton is a program that alloows Hilton Honors members to book day-rooms at various Hilton properties in the US, Canada and the UK and, for a limited time, the program is offering members 10,000 bonus points for their first stay. Based on my limited research, the prices for day-rooms vary significantly (from the acceptable to the ridiculous) so make sure you shop around before coming to a final decision.
