The British Airways Business Class sale has a number of great long-haul First & Business Class deals but if you’re looking for a combination of great price and a great Business Class cabin to the West Coast, you’ll be hard pushed to beat this one. United’s Polaris Business Class is considerably better than BA’s standard Club World and at £1,250 roundtrip from London, this West Coast deal is fantastic.

Fare Cost

I found this fare via Google Flights and the very best pricing is offered through LastMinute.com (and a few other OTA’s). The pricing from United is approximately £50 – £75 higher depending on the day of travel.

Personally, I’d pay the extra to book with United as it’s always easier to deal directly with an airline rather than an intermediary if/when things go wrong.

Fare Availability

There are two pieces of good news here. Firstly, this fare doesn’t become available until January 2021 so the world has time to get itself together before your travel dates come around, and, secondly, the fare is available on multiple days of the week right into July 2021 so you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding dates that work for you.

Here’s the availability as shown on Google Flights:

Be aware that, for reasons best known to Google, the pricing you see when you click through to check the fare and flights may well be cheaper than what the calendars show.

The Business Class Cabin

United Airlines and British Airways share a common issue in that the majority of their Business Class cabins are long past their best and compared to the competition, the cabins are pretty disappointing. Fortunately, both airlines also have a few aircraft that offer an excellent Business Class product, and United is scheduled to operate such an aircraft on its London – San Francisco route next year (British Airways is not).

The seat map from ExpertFlyer showing the Business Class cabin’s 1-2-1 layout confirms that the airline is offering its true Polaris Business Class product on these flights…

…and this is the seat you can expect:

United Airlines Polaris Business Class
United Polaris Business Class

This is a huge improvement over United’s older Business Class seats and it’s also a big step up from the Club World seat you’ll find British Airways offering between London and San Francisco.

Bottom Line

United has published a fantastic Business Class fare for travel between London and San Francisco for the first seven months of 2021 and the fare is made even better by the fact that the flights it books offer the airline’s Polaris Business Class cabin. If you’re looking for the best Business Class seat available for non-stop travel between London and San Francisco, this is it.
