The Chase Freedom 4Q bonus categories for 2024 have now been revealed and as of 15 September, registration is open. The categories for this quarter are mostly dull and uninspiring, but there’s one option which should allow holders of Chase Freedom/Chase Freedom Flex® credit cards maximize their earnings this quarter.
Chase Freedom 4Q 2024 bonus categories
The registration website for the Chase Freedom quarterly bonus categories has now been updated and in the last quarter of 2024 (i.e between 1 October and 31 December 2024) the Chase Freedom Flex® credit card and the legacy Chase Freedom credit card will offer 5% cashback (or 5 points/dollar) on up to $1,500 of spending in the following categories:
- McDonalds
- PayPal
- Pet shops and vet services
- Select charities
Don’t forget that these quarterly bonus categories are in addition to the permanent bonus categories that the Chase Freedom Flex® credit card offers – Travel (booked through Chase), Drugstores & Dining) – so make sure you’re making the most of those as well.
Quick thoughts
Thanks to the fact that an ever-increasing number of retailers now accept PayPal as a form of payment, it shouldn’t be very difficult to use that category to max out the cash back/points that are on offer this quarter, and that’s just as well because the other options don’t look to be particularly attractive (McDonald’s? Really?).
