Last Day To Book IHG Properties At Pre-Devaluation Rates

IHG hasn't been making many friends recently. We're only a little over two weeks into 2018 and we've already been told that the hotel chain is significantly weakening its best rate guarantee and increasing the cost of an award night at 499 properties worldwide. The changes to the cost of IHG award nights comes into effect from 16 January 2018 (tomorrow) so you have less than 24 hours to make any reservations you think you may need at the older rates (don't forget that IHG Rewards award bookings are fully refundable).

IHG Changes Terms Of Its Best Rate Guarantee – No More Free Nights

I didn't have too much luck with hotel best rate guarantees in 2017 as I never seemed to be able to find a room rate lower than the one I was booking through the chain I was staying with....but I have definitely made the most of them in the past. Most of my historic successes with best rate guarantees have come courtesy of Hilton and Marriott so I don't think I ever managed to exploit the generous terms that IHG has historically offered

FLASH SALE: IHG Points From 0.575 Cents & Increased Purchase Limits

The latest IHG flash sale is now on but this one is slightly different from the others we have seen recently. The maximum bonus you can earn will vary from account to account (this is a targeted promotion) and some IHG Rewards Club members are seeing their purchase limits increased to allow them to buy more points if they've already maxed out their annual allowance.

IHG Accelerate Promotion 1Q 2018 – How Are You Approaching It?

IHG Rewards has now posted details of its new Accelerate promotion for 1Q 2018 and I thought I take you through the headline terms and conditions, what Joanna and I have been offered this time around and how I'm approaching this Accelerate promotion.

Here’s How To Manufacture IHG Rewards Points For 0.489 Cents Each

Earlier today I went online to check prices at a Holiday Inn that I'm looking to book for an upcoming stay and I noticed something useful -  IHG Rewards is offering me a 15% discount on the cash portion of the "points & cash" rate that's available at all IHG properties and there is a way to use this to manufacture cheap IHG Rewards points.

LAST DAY: Buy IHG Rewards Points From Just 0.5 Cents Each!

For a little over a week now IHG Rewards has been offering a 100% bonus on purchases of 5,000 points or more and, if you are one of the lucky ones, you also get to buy the points at the lowest official rate we’ve seen – 0.5 cents per point. This offer ends today (3 November 2017) at 11:59 PM ET so I thought it would be helpful to quickly recap the deal.

IHG Rewards Lowers The Cost To Buy Points – Now Just 0.5 Cents Each

If, like me, you weren't one of the lucky ones who got targeted for the flash sale IHG Rewards has just run then there is a little bit of good news for you. IHG Rewards has unveiled its latest "buy points" promotion and the best available rate is over 13% lower than we have seen in the past.

Flash Offer! Buy IHG Rewards Points For Just 0.45 Cents Each

IHG Rewards has got a targeted flash promotion on right now which allows travelers to, essentially, purchase IHG Rewards points at an incredible 0.45 cents each....and that's a very good deal. Normally the best rate we see points sold for is around 0.575 cents each (and that's only when there's a 100% bonus on offer) so, if you're in the market for IHG points this could be your chance.

Kimpton Rewards Will Be Merged With IHG Rewards In 2018

IHG purchased Kimpton back in 2015 but, at the time, chose not to integrate Kimpton’s Karma Rewards program in to its own IHG Reward program. This was seen by many as a peace offering to Kimpton loyalists who didn’t want to see their preferred boutique chain engulfed by the IHG behemoth. Since then there have been various rumors circling around as to what IHG had planned for Kimpton Karma Rewards, but nothing much ever seemed to happen….until today.

IHG Rewards has launched a 3-day flash sale in which members can buy IHG Rewards points and essentially get a 100% bonus thrown in. As with most IHG Rewards flash sales this promotion isn't targeted so all members should be eligible for the best rates.

IHG Accelerate 2017 Fall Promotion Details Are Out – What Challenges Did You Get?

IHG Rewards has released details of its Fall Accelerate Promotion and, as usual, the promotional offers differ from member to member. I've been looking forward to seeing the details of this promotion for some time as my last few Accelerate offer have been less than stellar - it's like IHG knows how I love to game its offers :) As with previous IHG Accelerate promotions the details of the bonuses that can be earned will vary from account to account (you'll have to log in to IHG Rewards to see what you've been offered) but, from what I've seen, the weakest bonus on offer appears to be around 32,000 points.

IHG Accelerate Summer 2017 Promotion Is Live

IHG Rewards (the rewards program for the likes of InterContinental, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza amongst others) has been known to offer some of the more interesting and potentially lucrative promotions found in the hotel loyalty program arena......and the latest "IHG Accelerate" promotion for summer 2017 is now live.

“Buy” IHG Rewards Points Even Cheaper Than In The Recent Sale

Earlier this week IHG Rewards was offering a 100% points bonus if you purchased a minimum of 6,000 points in the latest sale and, with that generous bonus, the cost per point was reduced to just 0.575 cents each - a pretty good deal (as I mentioned at the time). If you missed out on that opportunity and you have Platinum or higher IHG Rewards status it would appear that IHG has thrown you a lifeline.....as long as you're not opposed to using a slightly more unorthodox method of acquiring points.

Last Chance For IHG’s 100% Points Bonus – Ends Today

Today is the last chance to take advantage of the IHG Rewards promotion which is offering all members a 100% bonus when they purchase IHG Rewards points. This offer is pretty much the exact same offer we saw from IHG at the beginning of June but it's still definitely just about as good an offer as we see from IHG.

Get A 100% Bonus When Buying IHG Points

IHG Rewards is offering all its members a 100% bonus when they purchase 5,000 or more IHG Rewards points between today (26 September 2016) and the end of Friday this week (30 September 2016). This offer is almost the same as the offer we saw from IHG at the beginning of June in that, apart from the minimum 5,000 point purchase, there are no barriers to getting the bonus - you don't have to have status and you don't have to have been targeted.

How I “Bought” IHG Points At 0.37 Cents Each

As I've mentioned in the past, the questions I get asked most often are always about how I accumulate enough points for the flights and hotel stays that Joanna and I enjoy. My answer is always the same - there's no one way that I or anyone else amasses miles & points, it's always a variety of methods. In this post I'm going to go over one of the methods I use to build up my IHG points and I'll show how I accumulated a healthy amount of points for a relatively low spend.

IHG Elites Can “Buy” Points For As Little As 0.572 Cents Each

For as long as I can remember there has been a loophole which allows IHG Rewards members to manufacture points for less than IHG often sells them for - with prices as they are points can be manufactured for 0.66 cents each. Now, for a limited time, IHG Rewards Elite members can apply the aforementioned method to manufacture IHG Rewards points for just 0.572 cents each.

Buy IHG Rewards Points With An 80% Bonus

IHG Rewards has announced its latest "buy points" and get a bonus promotion which runs through 9 September 2016. IHG is the rewards program for, amongst others, InterContinental Hotels and Holiday Inn and this is the first promotion it has run since late June where IHG Rewards members were offered bonuses of up to 100% - the promotion was targeted so the bonuses on offer varied from person to person while this promotion appears to be the same for all.
IHG Accelerate Fall Promotion

IHG Accelerate 2016 Fall Promotion Details Are Out

IHG Rewards has brought back its very popular Accelerate Promotion as the Fall bonus for its members. Last quarter, US-based IHG Rewards members had their own, slightly different, version of Accelerate compared to the rest of the world but this time it would appear that everyone is in the same boat. As with previous IHG Accelerate promotions the details of the bonuses that can be earned will vary from account to account (you'll have to log in to IHG Rewards to see what you've been offered) but the minimum bonus appears to be 30,000 points.

IHG Rewards Selling Points With A 100% Bonus

IHG Rewards is back with another "buy IHG Points" promotion and the rewards program for InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza (amongst others) has reverted to offering IHG Rewards members varying bonuses when they buy points. That makes this a considerably poorer promotion than the last one which in which everyone was offered a 100% bonus.

Buy IHG Points For As Little As $0.00575/£0.00397 (Though 3 June)

IHR Rewards Club have launched another "buy IHG Points & get a bonus" promotion and this one is an improvement on the last promotion the program ran back in March. In this latest promotion IHG Rewards is offering a 100% bonus on any purchase of 1,000 points or more where the last promotion only offered the 100% bonus to a select, targeted few. The last promotion also only offered the maximum bonus if you bought the maximum 60,000 points while, in this promotion, the 100% is available at all levels.

IHG Accelerate Promotion – Don’t Book Too Early!

It's a dangerous time of year for miles and points enthusiasts as the period between Christmas and New Year brings, for some, a little time off work but with not that much to do. The kids have all had their presents...and broken them, the food has been purchased and eaten, the family has come and gone and there's not that much going on in the travel world....so a little bit of boredom sets in. And boredom is when mistakes start to creep in.

When Blogs Give Bad Advice…

A post on one of the larger Miles & Points blogs caused a bit of ruckus last week when it appeared to suggest (advise?) that existing IHG Rewards members should open up second accounts to take advantage of a generous promotion open only to new members.
